Joy Division. One of my childhood bands - got pretty much everything by them (and loads of NO and Electronic as well)
One of me ex-housemates had the "here come the young men" video. we used to watch it to laugh at curtis' dancing

The warsaw stuff is really interesting, i dont have anything to compare it to - very odd, sparse, and claustrophobic. Sometimes techinically awful, sometimes stunning.

Ah....the Hacienda. There's a bit of nostalgia. That was a truly innovative club at the time. I didn't ever see JD, but I remember seeing early New Order there. I saw that early Madonna (with the pot belly) show ... I really don't know why they put her on at all...just goes to show what a decent club it was really - no strict rules about who played.

JD are very dark and brooding, whereas NO are quite housey/electro-y and vaguely poppy (if still enigmatic)
I remember barny once saying that they started to listen to a lot of house and electro to get over ian's death, as it is, essentially, happy music. They then took that onboard, and created the wonders of blue monday and technique
Both of them are stunning groups

Or John+Yoko=Beatles-the other 3.
Maths is not always the exact science it's made out to be, some denominators and numerators just don't even out

Honestly, I don't know those at all. The only NO song I can even remember is that shitty football thing. I'm not into their pop stuff post Blue Monday at all; it doesn't do it for me.
