Hello again. Just wondering: are you getting the scrambling when you hit save or during auto-save? I forget if you were going to fix that or is it was too much trouble.Markus from reFX (feilei) wrote:Thank you for your comments and testing so patiently.
I tested this one with success in Cubase SX, Orion, FL and EnergyXT:

beta 4 can be downloaded here:
<removed>
I have rewritten most parts of the GUI. New:
- Memory for the Bitmaps is allocated differently
- re-changed a class back to protected
- All GUI Objects are completely "0" set on startup
- Removed a bitmap Object which was referenced twice
- Deallocating memory works also in Orion now
- Reduced output volume by 50%
Good luck!

Beta 6 is online. It can be downloaded here:
<deleted>
Changes:
- GUI Bitmap allocation is similar like beta 1. Background image is loaded on constructor
- Removed debugging artefact from DSP open routine. A file called "debug.txt" was created on drive D: containing a "0" for host type information. This may have caused a crash on systems which have read-only attributes for D: like CD-Roms
- Accumulative mixdowns are now supported
If this version should be also not working, i'll post the C++ sourcecode here in public excluding the filter algorithms. Maybe someone has more luck with it than me.
Cheers,
Markus

Thank you for your support, patience and help.
Sometimes programming can be a bit frustrating. But the positive aspect on the trouble was that it resulted in a well structured and stable framework code which can be used for future products.
@Ben: Special thanks for the new forum!
Now i'll leave reality and go back to World of Warcraft.
Cheers,
Markus

I must have been a lucky one cuz it always worked for me in Energy XT. Thanks a lot for the filter cuz this one is getting a permanent place in my VST dir.Sometimes programming can be a bit frustrating. People have confirmed that crashes with BiFilter occured on systems with no harddiscs on drive "D:", for example CDROM drives or DVD burners.I must have been a lucky one cuz it always worked for me
The reason for that hard to find bug was an artefact from debugging. BiFilter tried to create a file called "debug.txt" on D:\ .If the your drive "D:" is read-only attribute, like a CDROM, or a DVD burner it makes Windows crash the host and throw an exception.

People have reported that BiFilter is very stable since beta6. The crashes on loading have been fixed.
New in beta 7:
- Drive knob range should be more controllable
- "Bypass" mode has been replaced with "Volume". You can control the plugin gain with the drive knob now.
- fixed a minor display error
BiFilter beta 7 can be dowloaded here:
