let me be the first to say that i like it alot.

more up-to-date, while still retaining the vintage feel.

both knob styles work for me, but i think i actually like the first ones more..

ok, looking at it some more, i guess the second (original) knobs look better in the context of the GUI.

(but i do like the first-style knobs by themselves).

I don't really like the look of the old knobs. But I agree with JF that the new knobs don't fit the style that well either.

Other than that the GUI is looking quite nice. The small horizontal sliders though - I wish there was a better way.

I think the slider "hit area" is too small. I hate playing "mouse games" when I'm trying to work.

The first reminds me of an old Oberheim, SEM generation, like the 4-voice, how it was 4 SEMs bolted together in a case. However, the second is probably best, it maintans some continuity and is also somewhat easier on the eye.

I prefer the first, if you drop the wood panels and develop it further. But I would also like a skin exactly like EVE, a legacy skin.

yes my inspiration was a Vermona modular,
which is similar to Doepfer and Oberheim

my idea is that EVE 1 was the classic plastic black box, like Wurlitzer, Solina, etc...

now with EVE 2 the pro synth features take place,
filters, FM, but still vintage, so a modular look
seemed appropriate,

the differences on the second are:

knobs, black frame of panels and orange text
on display

about the knobs I don't know,
but I like the grey display and the grey frame of the panels in the first,

pw, the wood helps for the vintage feel, what you'd see there?

legacy skin is a nice idea, maybe later

I think that the knobs don't look like they belong on the background. It is the same for all the knobs so I wonder if the background needs a little texture?

I have to say, just aesthetically I like the first. If feels less like I've seen it but familar - instantly I know it's EVE.
