Is anyone using this as a utility channel strip plugin or does the specialism in vocal processing mean it has limitations in other areas ?
your thoughts, commmunity ?
It was me, scuzz!scuzzphut wrote:I'm sorely tempted by Voxformer at £25 (and I even helped to sell one in this thread )
that's true, but the lack of the three are hardly noticed imo by the addition of some other great features like the presence, the de-essor and the eq. The "simplified comp is very useful itself. However the de-essor's is so flexible it can do more then just de-essing...the eq just plain kicks ass...my suggestion is try the demo, but keep your credit crd handy...Ixox wrote:Scuzzphut, The limitation is that the compressor(s) have been optimized for vocal processing.
Attack, release and ratio can not be modified.
Works great on acoustic guitare too.
I agree. After all, Voxformer is a vocal channel strip. It's functionality is not really limited- just aimed at a particular application. Personally, this suits me fine, as I had to chain together a number of other (UAD-1) effects just to try and match Voxformer for my vocal tracks. The fact that it can be used for other applications is a bonus.Hink wrote:that's true, but the lack of the three are hardly noticed imo by the addition of some other great features like the presence, the de-essor and the eq.
