Kompakt to Kontakt upgrade

I’m planning to buy Kontakt 2 for my new Receptor. However, I noticed that e.g. Time+Space in the UK has a pretty good deal on a Kompakt to Kontakt 2 upgrade. With Kompakt already installed on Receptor, and the fairly cheap license that can be bought through Plugorama, I was thinking maybe I should buy Kompakt first, and then upgrade to Kontakt afterwards. Is there any reason why such an upgrade deal should represent a problem when used on a Receptor (when it comes to authorizing)? I personally wouldn’t think so, but just thought I’d check.

I purchased my Receptor with, among other items, Kompact already installed (by Muse, for me).
I've been running it for about 4 months. A few weeks ago, I attempted to purchase the upgrade to Kontact 2. That's when I discovered that Native Instruments doesn't recognize me as a registered user
(same thing with the other NI plug-ins I purchased pre-installed)
It seems that I was the 1st to encounter this 'bug' in their marketing...
Anyway, I believe Muse is addressing this shortly, as one of the guy's is going to Europe soon (and will speak to NI about this)
I was told it should get 'worked-out' early in the new year.
