ps classical music through plugs = Murcof
porn through plugs = erm, maybe Aphex's Fantasia, maybe De La Orgy. Good plan, though.

I think there's a lot that can be done with more traditional electronic music.. infusing pop elements, video game-type melodies, etc. I try to do this kind of stuff and a lot of people have said that it's somewhat refreshing. Quite a few other musicians do this type of stuff too.. here are some links;

www.supergreenx.com

and so on and so forth..

lately i've been listening to the Ennio Morricone compilation Crime and Dissonance (compiled by Mike Patton and the new release by Pest All Fall Out from Ninja Tune. both have been very enjoyable and refreshing for me.

Neither are particularly hard to find. Tons of distributors stock the stuff.

Have a listen to the Collaboration that Brian and Roger Eno did with Daneil Lanois for NASA: Apollo Atmospheres and Soundscapes.

Very chilled Ambient (Eno coined the term way back in the day) with some delightful slide guitar playing by Daniel Lanois.

Jack, you might want to check out this label - not a new sound by any means, but an interesting picking up of some musical threads that got dropped with the advent of cheap samplers and DX7s. Mostly made with analog modulars.

Yeah, I did a whole album of stuff just like that, called Vagabond Neologist. No one gave a damn when I released it back in March. Maybe one day.

Well, a couple years ago, 1997, when I was trying to find the stuff it was a lot harder before the internet really exploded. I'm sure today it's a different story.

Maybe people shouldn't expect so much from music? Truely original stuff comes along rarely.

NEU

And for totally challenging stuff, then Morton Subotnick's Wild Bull and Silver Apples of the Moon.

I found it by downloading YMvst from http://preromanbritain.com/ymvst/. There are some other cool links there.

JackDark, you have something for everyone, thanks Santa.

I think it has already been said a few times, but check out almost anything from Mike Patton.
