Anyone know how to find the tempo from an audio import in tracktion? greatly app! :o

can't remember the exact option offhand, but when an audio clip is selected on the edit page, there'll be an option button with menu options for setting the clip size based on tempo, or the tempo based on teh clip size.

If it needs to be *exact*, it'll take some doing.

If it needs to be 'more or less', you just find a region that you know is 1 bar (set your timeline to read minutes and seconds so that you don't throw yourself off!), cut the beginning and end with the '/' key, then select the 1-bar (or 2-bar... as long as it's full bars) section that you've just made and press the "auto tempo" button at the bottom.

OR, press play, click the tempo area so that its properites are shown in the box at the bottom, and use the "tap" button to tap a rough estimate of the tempo.

The 'involved' way would require some doing, including mapping the drum transients to MIDI with something like KTDrumTrigger. I haven't done it this way so I can't guarantee results, but it'll make it easier to find a true full-bar (or two) region for the 'auto tempo' button.
