Well I don't know, it sounds pretty awesome to me, definitely better then anything out there so far.~BURNY~ wrote:... Well I'm confused... I like clean sounds but... As far as distortion goes, I find this desapointing.
Harsh is the word that came to my mind. Where's the "chunk", where's the "omph", where's the "grit", where's the "juice"?
Of course it is all talk until we have the demo in our hands and we can tweak it the way we like it.
I would not jump into negative conclusions so fast.

well on the other hand he did ask if he could mute himself...I reckon sticking one's foot in one's mouth is a good way of muting one's self...AndrewSimon wrote:I would not jump into negative conclusions so fast.~BURNY~ wrote:... I know it's a bit early, maybe. But you know, there's people who find AT1 awsome. And and fine with that. I disagree but I'm ok with that.AndrewSimon wrote:Well I don't know, it sounds pretty awesome to me, definitely better then anything out there so far.~BURNY~ wrote:... Well I'm confused... Now, what I'm hearing here is just everything I try to avoid while recording a real amp. Harshness (to my ears) and that bloody "frying eggs sound" (do you hear it or is it just me?).
I guess I was expecting too much, this is just not for me. I'm pretty sure about that.

By the way, all players, make sure to check out

Sounds very good, I can't wait to demo it side by side with AT2..... I feel like we are on the brink of a new era as far as what is possible with emulation.
Even if it's not quite as good as hardware, it's a huge step in that direction.

WTF???
All *the* hype and then such demos?
Did anybody at IK ever listen to real amps, soloed or in a mix?
I would take a bet that I could get pretty freaking damn close to all those sounds with my VAmp2. And a Pod XT would easily kick the butt of each of those demos.
They're not bad for sure. But they're in no way great either. Nothing to get all worried about. And certainly not better than what I've heard from GR2 so far.
The "Hot Head" demo isn't *that* bad. But as said, nothing I couldn't get out of a POD without any CPU expense and dongles.
Sorry, but no.

Like I said a few pages ago Baron, you'd already made your mind up before hearing it. Preconceptions are a bitch aren't they?

No, I was just expecting something "better" than what was allready there.
My former comments were just being sarcastic - but unfortunately, they are now being proven right.
Believe me or don't, I truly wish there was some kickass amp simulation available as a VST plugin. That'd really make my day (and even parts of my future life as well). I just hate carrying around all that shit.

If you're someone who prefers pc amp sims and are use to pc amp sims then I'm sure there's a lot good things for yah...however I haven't heard anything that blows me away to change my current set-up that I'm use to...I noticed some spots where when transitioning between chords and single notes/scales the tone lost some integrity and garbled. However so far that has been the case with any of the pc amp sim samples I have heard...perhaps it has to do with me being accustomed to active guitars...

Whoa!!! Not bad at all, keeping in mind that these sounds are dry, so not EQed or doctored in any way...Well, the cleans are extremly nice, the distroted sounds are OK to a bit below average on certain sounds ( except hot head which sound really good ), too much muddiness...the "Hot" solo sounds range from good to very good. The sound is a lot clearer, cleaner and less dirty and muffled than AT1. It is way better.
All in all, I am only a bit dissapointed to be honest with you. I give the demos a 7.5/10 overall.
Now that I heard them, for sure I won't be buying the plugin based on these demos alone. The sounds might be OK on these demos, but with a few more tweaking, EQ, it should sound more than average. Also the demo would allow us to see how the product actually behaves or feels to the guitar player...Very important!
So if IKMM offer me no downloadable demo I can test drive myself, they won't have me as their customer. The sound of it did not WOW me and leave me breathless as I expected it to, but it is still a nice sounding ampsim plugin.
Now, I hope that Squids can start posting his AT2 sound samples ( dry or mastered ) so we can have more sounds that we can compare to and enjoy.
Merry Christmas all.

.. hmm, i tend to think the same.A3ntar wrote:So if IKMM offer me no downloadable demo I can test drive myself, they won't have me as their customer.
in the last weeks i got used to GR2, so i dont think that i´d buy AT2 without being able to test it.
i could only listen to the mp3´s on my powerbook, so no statement from me yet.
