My studio has ups backup systems for just about everything. Could someone recommend a ups that the shutdown software could be installed on Receptor to facilitate a orderly and controlled shutdown ? Everything I have found so far runs on windows. Maybe the question should be does anyone know which one would install on Receptor ?

Thanks

A UPS does not normally need shutdown software in order to protect equipment from BrownOuts, powercuts, spikes etc. Shutdown software is normally only used if you are not attending the appliance.

Something like Belkin has good noise suppressors in it as well as good backup times (though their software actually sucks bad – even on windows) (For this APC is way better make)

If you get a powercut – something as small as receptor should be able to keep running for at least 30 mins with the larger of the belkin gold series, plenty of time to shut the thing down safely yourself – it works on backup without the need to connect rs232 to receptor as all the power monitoring is done in the belkin unit – the only thing you would need shutdown software for is for shutting down the unit if you were not there – why would you need a receptor on if you were not actually using it?

APC has reasonable quality that won't break the bank

I have a couple of Cyber power AVR 1500's in the room now on other machines. I ask this question because if I am taking a break for supper and have left the premises or whatever, I need the software on Receptor to shut it down in the event of power failure.
