How to load different banks into Absynth 3?

I have sucessfully installed and registered Absynth 3. The sounds are really fantastic !!! But only internal preset banks (factory1 and factory2) are possible to select. Other banks are not displayed and they can by loaded only when Absynth 3 is displayed and you Press File - Open and find the *.glo file. Than the new bank is loaded and you can switch between sounds. But only when plug-in is displayed. When you close Absynth 3, there are only banks factory 1 and factory 2 displayed. Any suggestion how to display also other banks in Receptor basic menu?

You would have to save each patch by hand. It is a very time consuming process. It would be helpful to share the work. If other Absynth customers are interested, each person could save a bank or two, then share it.

If you don't know how to save patch here is how you do it:
  • 1. Instantiate Absynth and go to the Absynth GUI.
    2. Click on Save/File and create a new bank.
    3. Load a patch (*.glo file)
    4. Click on Save/File and save a patch in the bank you created on step 2.
Repeat steps 3 and 4 until you are done with a folder or until you filled the bank.

I was just reading the manual and got to the preset and patch section and starting thinking, "Oh no... how am I going to get my presets off my Mac and into the Receptor, when I get it". I was going to ask the same thing! I have another question and I'll post that seperately.

Receptor supports the standard VST bank (.fxb) and patch (.fxp) format. Unfortunately, many manufacturers choose to use their own proprietary format. You guys could try to influence these companies by demanding that they use the standard.

If you have VST banks and patches (files ending with .fxb or .fxp) you can very easily import those into Receptor.

Not so positive answer :-( But I understand the problem is on side of VST plu-ins producers which doesn´t use standard format, unfortunatelly.
In spite of that I am able to work out presets (Pads 1, Pads 2) for Receptor and I would appreciate anyone other would done the other presets shipped with Absynth 3. Just send me the e-mail for exchanging ...
Thanks in advance for cooperation, it will save a lot of time for each of us !

Dear Dan,

I have just finished komplete banks Pad 1 and Pad 2 for Absynth 3! It takes a long time. In my previous post I wrote that I would exchange my banks to others. Therefore I may send you Pad 1 and Pad 2 when you will send me another processed bank for Absynth 3. The system is 1:1. I will give you one bank set when you will send me one bank set ...

I personally don't need the banks. Absynth is a great plug-in, but I don't use it that much.

I know that it is very time consuming, but I was hoping that you were willing to share your hard work with others. I understand if you don't.

Anyway, if anybody else is saving any Absynth banks and is willing to share, please contact us and we will make the bank(s) available. We will give you credit, of course.

I'm starting on converting my banks. I don't want to duplicate others, though. Is there a place where I put them? Some are my own, some are standard and some are from the user forums. I have two small banks done. I'll send them to support, I guess. Wait.... um, what about the samples, though? How do they get included? Are they automatically copied to NI\Absynth\Samples when the preset is saved? Yikes! Hmmm....

Dear Dan,

and what about the situation when I upgrade my Receptor with 160GB harddisk in future?
Than I will need to copy my created Absynth and other plug-in user presets into new harddisk.
But copying into directory "Banks and Patches" is not possible (write operation into this folder is not permited). I am using Windows Commander in XP.
Is the only situation to work out all user patches of each plug-ins from beginning or do you have some utility which unlocks Receptor?
I thing that this question will need solve most Receptor user´s in future ...
