You mean like a channel insert?

naah, there isn't one cause the majority of the users don't want one. "If you wan't a mixer buy yourself a controller." is one of the quotes in the battle for T mixer...

Allthoug I agree with this, I can't help thinking that a Tracktion Mixer would look extremely good, as oppose to Nuendo and Protools...
But if so it would have to be buildt in a way that the users that don't want it don't have to use it. Maybe as a downloadable extension?

Ok, this wasn't what you asked for, but....

But I don't think it will ever come. No mixer is one of the things that makes Tracktion special, and as long as Jules do have a finger on the button I think mixer freaks will have to dream to the horisont for it..

If you search way back in the archive, you will find that there was a Daniel somethingorother that made a mixer plugin for Tracktion 1. It might still work for Tracktion 2.

I personally have never had a need for a mixer in Tracktion.

I really wanted to let this pass and not get involved, but unfortunately, I couldn't :)

How does having no mixer make Tracktion 'special'? Seriously? What's special about not having a feature that a number of people want?

The statement you made earlier that the majority of users don't want one is probably true, as a lot of people have likely moved to other sequencers as a result of there being no mixer or have just bypassed Tracktion altogether for this reason. If you asked the question of all potential users, then you may find that the majority would want one.

Anyway, I shall await the swamping of the 'no mixer' crew. :)

give me a mixer or i'm leaving :x

ok maby its not quite that bad :hihi:

but T3 better have a bloody mixer :!:

& to all who object to a mixer button being added you are all a bit stupid because!!

a) you dont have to press it!
b) it will help Tracktions user base grow
c) I WANT ONE!!

i realy hope the mods over here will be putting a stop to the anti update Tracktion crew that like to flaim allmost every FR that comes to Tracktion

if you dont like a FR then leave it, insted of bumping it ;)

PS, +1 for a mixer inside Tracktion (seeing as it is the 21'st centry)

Because you can do all of your mixing without floating windows. Pretty simple really.
If you asked the question of all potential users, then you may find that the majority would want one.
That's a pointless piece of reasoning. If you asked the 'amjority' of people what colour car they would want, the majority would tell you "silver." Are you saying evry car should some variation on the theme of silver, simply bacuse that's what the majority wants?

Tracktion offers a choice, and that's what makes it special. All too few other sequencers do offer any kind of choice, you basically have five or so flavours of Cubase. I'm not much for FL's small dark interface, but you wont find me on FL forums saying how FL should look like Sonar.

I've been sitting on the fence with respect to this. At times the current mixerless setup is ideal, but there are times that having a more structured mixer would just work better. I'm all in for the mixer button approach.

I wouldn't put up a fuss if one was added as an option ("Hey! I'm leaving because an optional feature has been implemented!" is pretty weak) but nor do I care if one ever gets added.

And, as gets mentioned every time this FR gets brought up: I'd rather the coding resources (time and money) went toward something like inline beatslicing/Acid support, a better pitch-shift, better project management (though it's already good!), etc. etc.

Also, I highly doubt that the "majority" of people want one. The majority that *I'M* aware of enjoy the mixerless approach. Saying that a strong minority want a mixer is a fair enough guess, but still just a guess. Actually, I'm pretty sure that in past FR polls, mixer came pretty low on the list of desires. Like 5% or something silly.

Your 'majority' is imagined. ;) Though, you're right that many of us simply don't care.

For me, the reason I argue is about the other features I'd rather see.

Mixer schmixer.

If they can come up with a way of letting it integrate gracefully with Ts rather extensible channel strip system, then groovy. I wouldn't want to see something that required lots of user input, or discouraged users from learning the standard (and greatly more flexible) track approach.
