FireBox and SBLive - can they live in peace together in T?

I just ordered a PreSonus Firebox - waiting for the shipment.

Up 'til now, I've been just using my Creative SBLive platinum card (the one with the front I/O panel which is very handy), using the KXproject ASIO drivers.

My question is:

I likely will use the FireBox as my main input device, but when I'm just mixing - I think I'll find it easier to use the Live card.

Is it possible to have two different ASIO devices coexisting happily in Tracktion?

That depends on what you mean by 'happily.'

The ASIO standard does not allow for multiple ASIO devices to be active, so the short answer is no.

There are a couple of workarounds though, such as using ASIO4ALL to merge both devices into one virtual ASIO device.

Synchronisation will most likely be poor between to the two devices, and you may see a small performance hit also. It should work though.

Other than that you only other choice I believe, is simply to keep switching the ASIO device on the settings tab.

Having played with the firebox for about an hour - I think I won't be using the SBLive any longer!!!

I'd just take it right out of your system, physically, to avoid conflicts in the future. Not that there will necessarily be any, but you might as well take it right out of the equation.
