Hehe, yes, thats the obvious solution... but as usually with waves it pricy and good.

... but does it sound like the real thing... i dont know, i wish i could test those eq samples with the real thing. I do know that some HW eq artifacts cant be captured with a straight convolution process, not even the dynamic convo like in sintefex... but sometimes just a hint of the color made by the real unit can do it for you.

true. it's one of the few waves plugs that's actually worth the price, imo.

extrememly close, imo. i doubt anyone would tell the difference unless you told them. :)

try a demo, if you get a chance...

and what's so good about q-clone? can you even tweak it? nope...

Post

no offense omo, but i think you're missing the point. it's not meant to be a traditional parametric eq - it's made specifically for taking snapshots of your outboard eq so that you can use that hardware on multiple tracks without having to do bounces. that's why they call it q-clone :hihi:

btw, it does have an "add" function that allows you to tweak the eq curves to a good degree... i suggest you read the manual. :D

Don't forget Urs EQs if you really like paying exorbitant sums for average sound and fancy graphics.

Another huge vote for Waves Q-Clone. I mentioned it on the 1st page of this thread but I guess it went overlooked.

It IS tweakable as sidrat exposed.

For example:
let's assume Neve presets provided are: 5Khz at +1dB,+3dB,+6dB,-1dB,-3dB, and -6dB.....but you wish to achieve 5Khz+2dB.

Answer: load 5Khz +3dB then add 5Khz -1dB to achieve this. Or, add two presets of 5Khz+1dB together. You can continue to boost or cut as you like and actually MIX different hardware together (i.e, more than one EQ in a chain WITHOUT loading another instance of Q-Clone).

Users can also share presets of their hardware captures like you do with other impulses.

I agree with sidrat.....if you get the opportunity, try the demo!

another mention for PSP Master Q and Sonalksis!

sidrat, I know what q-clone is . This plug is useless because it is: 1) practicaly untweakable 2) people here don't have expensive outboard eq and 3) even if we all had outboardEQs we'd have to be too stupid to waste money in this marketing driven plug. So, pal, it is you who's missing the point here. Good luck with your twaking there :hihi: And this Q-Clone concept is a total miss. Tell me when there's something with smooth knobs :clown:

Precision Eq in UAD is pretty cool. :)

PLParEq3 sound really cool. But the GUI should have
greyd out,in the drop down list, the selections that cant be made in the free version. :x

.. there´s just one EQ i became a fan of: .. hydratone from TriTone Digital. .. :)

before it was here i compared quite some EQ-plugs here, but none of them could make me go "wow".
then hydratone arrived, and for the first time since musicmaking on a computer the word "silk" came into my mind.
of course, it always depends on the kind of music we´re doing. but for me hydratone is the schnitzel!

omo: that's uncanny - you sound just like my girlfriend when she's on her period... hope you feel better :hihi:

sidrat, hehe, you can't bite me :hihi:

but I know that using Q-Clone is pain in the ass. You can't just sweep and find that very spot but instead you have to sit there with a mouse and klick cklick cklick browsing through presets. Redicilous design

well, if that is the the only problem for getting good outboard eq gears into the box, then i would do it all the time...
