I've just encountered a really annoying problem. After having
been working with tracktion 2 since it came out, and having kept up with all updates, every time I open an edit it is now empty !
It seems as though I have lost the contents. The wave material is still present but the structure is lost !!!!. Has anyone experienced this and any ideas about why. I need to finish the
work for april for the school play and don't dare open anything anymore!

I never had that problem, and haven't heard of it before. (Actually it reminds me of one single person who had this problem with ERA, and it turned out that his install was a mix of beta-release with the current release)
Can't you restore the backups you made (every weekend)? At least create backups of all your work to CD or DVD now, so you can experiment with projects / edits and still be able to restore.
Did you ever open the edits before? e.g. when you worked on a song several days, saving it and opening it? Or were they all single session efforts? (This sounds silly, but: You do have to save your work before closing Tracktion. Otherwise the exact symptom that you describe will happen).
Do you remember when this problem starting happening? What happened to your pc at that time? New VST's? Tracktion upgrade? Windows XP upgrade?

Maybe you should just click on the projects without opening them, then export an archive of them just to have a back up. THEN try opening them to see whats going on. My guess is you didnt have a separate folder for each project and then the reference material got mixed up some how. I hope you can find whats causing the problem.
I've never had a corrupt edit in T1 or T2 in about 200 projects. Thank the gods! Thats the reason I switched to Tracktion in the first place.
