multiple mackie control units?

i'd like to use tracktion with my tascam fw1884 and 2 tascam fe8 (extensions to the fw1884). the devices can emulate a mackie control, but to use all 3 i would need to activate 1 mackie control device for each of them, so 3 in the end.

my problem is: how do i tell tracktion that i've got 3 of them, for the external controller setup lists only 1 (and a c4).

any solution to this problem?

thanks

That's probably a question for Beno, but my (limited) understanding is that the extensions would need to emulate the MCU Extenders, rather than an MCU. The problem is that Tracktion doesn't currently support the cotnrol extenders, only the main MCU unit.

There's a sticky thread in this forum for 3rd party controller support - you should post your hardware details so that Mackie know that there are FE8 users out there.

the fe8 emulates another mcu, so what i need would be a possibility to install 3 mcus (that's the way i do it in protools).

Well you don't need 3 different MCU options on the controllers tab, just assign the MCU controller to all three MIDI input devices.

I don't know how well Tracktion will cope - I suspect all three may try to follow each other around - but it can't hurt to try.

i don't know exactly what you mean. if i choose mcu as external controller he wants me to tell him the "midi input to use for this device". here i can choose no more than one device - same for output. do i miss an option?

ahh, I was forgeting how that screen works. My mistake.

I think you are out of luck until Mackie adds support for extenders then. :(

i don't need support for the extenders, i need support for multiple mcus .o)
