:help:
I am having terrible problems with my muse. I am a really busy musician and do not have time for this kind of trouble..My gig set should be programmed tomorrow, 20 songs to go and I guess I will have to give up on Muse for this gig and go back to my Motif and Nord stage.
I thought that Muse was optimized for plugins and it wouldn't crash but Muse crashes everytime I use it!!! way more than my computer ever did. It also takes several minutes for it to open a plugin. Yes, z-link is on...
I am very disappointed with this product if there is no solution to these problems.. as I went to extreme measures in getting one to Finland.

You should call tech support and describe the problem and you configuration in detail.
Mine rarely crashes, and NEVER crashes if I am using my usual set up to play, only when I am in the instrument editor of Kontakt.

I replied to her plugorama support ticket. She has a 160 GB hard drive, but only 256 MB of RAM, and she has z-load enabled. z-load uses RAM to speed up plug-in instantiation, and the combination of large sample libraries, only 256 MB of RAM, and z-load will just not work.

I recommended that she starts by disabling z-load, then adding at least 1 GB of RAM. That should fix the problem.

Is it only people who have large sample libraries on thier receptor ( such as the collasis deal) who are having these problems? As a lot of you know, I have TONS of plugins on my unit, and it very rarly crashes. However I mostly use synths, and wusikstation and eve are my samplers. I only have 256M ram and the original 40g hd ( and I admit I only have 3 Gigs left :-) ) but have none of these problems. is this a Kontact issue? Just curious.

Mine crashes everytime I turn it on. Sometimes it will reboot 3 or 4 times for no apparent reason at all. I have Colossus but I don't have to have any instruments loaded for it to crash. I had posted a thread back before Christmas (I think) but nobody repled.

Colossus and all the other East/West sample libraries require more than 256 MB. I think you need at least 1 GB to be able to use it comfortably. z-load makes things worse in this case. It's a trade off, z-load speeds things up, but uses more RAM.

I don't know about Wusikstation, but Eve, which is a sampler, uses smaller samples and can work with 256 MB of RAM.

Could you please email your system log to support@plugorama.com? The system log file is in the "Reports" folder, at the same level with the "Drop Installers Here" folder.

Hi!

I doubt the kontakt or using samples is the reason for the crashes of my Receptor. I really haven't started to use them that much yet. The unit has been crashing with softsynth patches too. What I've programmed for the project I'm working with now is just about 3-6 softsynths per multipatch. The synths I use mostly are Pro-53, FM-7, Melohman and sometimes Kompakt with edited factory libraries.

What kind of controllers are you using with the Receptor when you're having the crashes? USB or plain midi? I've used mostly midi-controllers. From my experiences USB-devices definitely cause more crashes than midis.

I am using a M-audio Pro88 USB'd to the DAW and midi cabled to Receptor. Like this - - Maudio usb>DAW>echo via usb to Maudio> midi thru to Receptor. BTW it sounds like you have Yamaha usb experience.

Have you tried disabling z-load? Do you still get crashes after that?
