Midiworks - awsome to hear the news on the amp sims. But could you maybe add an engl powerball or deizel vh4 in there? Those are some of the best high gain amps around and seemingly no one has done a good ampsim of them. Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease!!!

wow oh, after reading Rene's last post, and given the length of it, my hype meter maxed out ! And I know his plugin will live up to the hype now (smart move this christmas present). I gotta go switch on my amp (Xmas Tube that is of course)...

Thanx Rene,Midiworks wrote:Weather is much better now, still bad but not like before.
Power "quite" stable, phone line more than less.
I told you about my new modeling engine before.
After listening to some other amp sim demo mp3's,
I thought they all sound the same...
Mean, no unic amp caracters at all.
I tried to identify those "so called" models by ear, but I could not.
Even more shocking, if you listen to real amp mp3's,
straight afterwards.
XmasTube can be identified as the amp it is modeled after,
if you know, hear or own the real thing.
So, the new modeling engine, does exactly this.
Create identifiable amp simulations, of the real thing,
so real that they jump into your face,
bite you and kick your ass.
The last 3 days, I was here with a friend and his
POD XT Live and his Variax guitar.
While the POD had a few nice sounds,
but it was missing caracter and feel.
So, whenever we needed a distorted amp,
we used one of my new models and all of a sudden,
the guitar started to breath, to live and to scream.
these are the marketing lyrics we need!
All the best, FRitz
P.S. When? No offense, man. Just deliver.
In the end will be the word.

Much better marketing talk now. Is the Bogner XTC in there, too?Midiworks wrote:Funny, the Diezel vh4 is already there and my personal favorit.agentdark1 wrote:But could you maybe add an engl powerball or deizel vh4 in there?

His baby was the Bogner xtc. (great amp)![]()
OK, when?

My own hype meter maxed out too, fritzman wrote:P.S. When? No offense, man. Just deliver.
after I invented this new modeling engine.
My friends and wife said:"you are crazy",
after I said that I will change all for the new engine again.
I simply said, no, its more than worth all the effort.
So, I am full time on it, again...
The internal flow needs to be changed, a major task.
I dont think much in terms of marketing, fritzman wrote:Much better marketing talk now. Is the Bogner XTC in there, too?
even if I should...
It is not easy to get me exited, so when I over-exite myself, that is something.
No marketing talk,
I really want it to be the best amp sim out there,
and thats what it will be.
Yes, the Boogneur TXC

Awsome Rene! You are the man!
Post some clips of the deizel and bogner if you can - can't wait!
Also one minor crit of the Xmas Tube amp is that the sound doesnt seem to be as initially "powerfull" or the stereo image doesnt seem to be as quite present as say GR2, but the distortion is MILES better! - If you could somehow tweak that that would be great! - Think sort of podxt presence and clarity, but couple that with your distortion engine
Ooh and you know what would really make your amp sim stand out from the crowd? - a Peavy 5150! I have never heard a good "In Flames" or "At the gates" gothenberg metal sound from and amp sim yet - Rene I have faith in you! Ill pay big bucks if you nail these amps!
On a side note, what do you think of Amplitube 2's DSM technology? Anything like it in your sims?

XmasTube is mono but has L+R outs.agentdark1 wrote:Awsome Rene! You are the man!

Simply add a very short delay (around one ms),
to one of its out.
Ok, will post some mp3 soon.fritzman wrote:Maybe some audios with the Diezel and Bogner? We sure will recognize it when we hear it ...
If you now the real amp you will recognize them.
If you dont, it just sounds like a cool amp.
Vervil, said a few very true things about amp sound in general.
His words made me think and aproace things differently with the new engine.
Thanks Vervil !

Awsome will try that out, I know we are all asking alot of you from this sim, but its great to see such good interaction between the developer and the users, After all we are gonna be to ones buying it.
Also do you think you could maybe make a sort of custom distortion module amp with loads of tweakability? - So that maybe the users can make up their own amp e.g taking amplitube 2's module idea 5 steps further, letting the users actually change the phrasing and tonal characteristics of the components within the amp sim, like for example changing the tubes, the amps internal eq sound and colour, cabinet size, mike placement (which could be done easily by users simply putting in new impulse responses) That would be sick!
And one gripe I've found with pretty much every amp sim is that once you start getting into rediculous gain ballparks the whole thing doesnt work lol, I love the podxt with the metal model pack for that reason - it can just be pushed brutally and it just gets heavier and heavier
- for example putting a booster pedal before a real amp or the podxt - all other amp sims ive tried just cant handle the extra signal input. Ive found that slamming the 1st input tube with a really high guitar signal is the essential key to get a totally extreme crisp "roar" of a sound.
Damn I cant wait for this sim!

Thanx for listening Fritz, I am not into metal so maybe I got it wrong. Care to share your thoughts? (what it sounds like, what's been used here etc.)fritzman wrote:I don't like that sound.zeoy wrote:Hi Rene and others,

whatcha mean you're not into metal? Your example sounds like hard rock. Sounds like something with tubes but without a miced speaker. Micing it with a good cab and some equing would surely help. How the "amp" (a preamp?) sounds is OK but not very good.
So what is it?
All the best, FRitz
