no i think this is just for one or two themes he was working on, i believe one is related to being aqua. i dont even want to watch that again to check though, cause it was that painful.

yes it really sucks to work with these sorts of people. but then you get lucky and work with a client that knows what they want, and has a great vision for their work.

i think for the reasons you mention here vulich, it was just painful to watch this video, and thinking about how fripp is shrugging them off in his head knowing there's a great paycheque at the end of it all.

there's a great film on archive.org's prelinger about the struggle a 60s advertising exec goes through but i cant locate it at the moment unfortunately.

Just listening to the video now. I'm sure the blue and green has been pointed out by others already, but "he said he wanted some darker timbres, so I moved to a slight brown" had me in stitches.

My apologies for spelling "whale" wrong twice. It was long week. And, no, I meant no disrespect to those who reside in Wales...

What I'm wondering about is whether Fripp will get royalties from the sales of Vista for his confident, blue-green, human, sometimes brown, 4-note ascending optimism theme. If so, his six hour enslavement to Bill Gates could work out quite well for him in the long run.

no way he gets royalties off of that. they probably just give him a huge lump sum. huge

Another high point for me was when the project manager, or whatever he was, told all the attendants to wander around the room while Robert tried one last time to get something that was acceptably blue/confident. I felt a little sorry for Fripp, since he was really just jamming, but he must have felt a lot of pressure to sort of magically come up with whatever it was that they wanted, which I'm sure wasn't totally clear even to them.

I can't remember what the Eno '95 theme sounded like (I've tried to forget everything there was to remember about Win '95, since it was mostly bad

), but I hope the Fripp "crafty" musical ethic somehow fits with Vista, so everyone is happy. I know I'll get a big grin every time Vista starts up if I find I'm hearing the unmistakable sound of Fripp's loops.
