You set them by doubleclicking - sorry I havn't mentioned it before, it's just so that we really got used to it
They do not default to actual parameter names for several reasons. First off, there can be multiple parameters assigned. But mostly, the idea behind XYs is offering a quick & easy interface for sound manipulation that works without knowing the underlying synthesis parameters. Thus I'd like to force patch designers to label them in a semantical way rather than syntactically. Like, I'd prefer a label like "Brightness control" over "Filter Cutoff".
Cheers,
Urs

Have you given any thought to augmenting the xy controls with something like a snap-to or detent feature?
For example. With snap-to enabled, if you placed the dot near the detent (like the center or some musically useful measure (like an 3rd/5th/7th/octave for pitch or 1/16th for tempo)) it would latch to the point without having to precisely adjust it.
Sorta like the detent in an old control wheel--or springs on joystick for centering.

That's a good idea actually. Kind of an adjustable grid, i.e. for oscillator semi tone tuning. Will evaluate that idea! (When there's time for it, of course...)
