Anything by Chic works for me.
Also anything by Dr Feelgood (though most of it is really a mix of rhythm and lead together)
"Spooky" (the Atlanta Rhythm Section version)
"Bad to the Bone" - George Thoroughgood and the Destroyers
"Show me the way" - Peter Frampton (cheesy as anything but I just like it!)
Not "Smoke on the water" but someone *will* mention it
"School's Out" - Alice Cooper (or Alex Harvey - even better)
...and loads more that I just can't think of right now.
Regards,
Derek.

oh ya. I'd like to add The Smiths "how soon is now" and "controversy" by Prince to this list.
Not bad meaning bad but bad meaning good

I've always had a soft spot for the Spinners' I'll Be Around
I could add a few dozen James Brown & John Lee Hooker songs...
For something more recent, the White Stripes' Black Math comes to mind, which also coincidentally has my favourite guitar solo, too.

agreed...Hernan wrote:Lots of them, but the one-chord riff of T-Rex's "Bang the Gong" has to be the one with the highest effectiveness-to-notes ratio.

There are many but this one always pops up first in my mind:
"Give me the night" by George Benson
Check it out if you are not familiar with it.
