I taking delivery of a Muse next week. My initial concern is how am I going to replace the Rhodes, Clavinet and Wurlitzer sounds that my Electro 2 used to give me. I simply love the Scarbee products. How do I get to use them on my Muse?

"Scarbee R.S.P. '73" and "Scarbee W.E.P." work on Receptor either with Kontakt or Kompakt. Also "Scarbee Vintage Keyboards FX" is known to work on Receptor as an "Unsupported Plug-in." "Scarbee Vintage Keyboard Collection" uses the Halion sampler from Steinberg, which is not currently supported on Receptor so that one won't work.
You could also consider "Elektrik Piano" from Native Instruments. This one has a Hohner Clavinet E7 in addition to Rhodes and Wurlitzer pianos. You can also try the free TickyClav from Big Tick. For a free product it sounds pretty good.

Thanks, So when you say the Scarbee VKFX is known to work as an "unsupported Plug-in", dopes this mean that various Receptor owners may see various results using these plugs? Being that I haven't received my unit yet, I don't quite understand the terminology yet.

The Rhodes (MrRay) and Wurlitzer (MrTramp) from http://www.soundfonts.it is very good and works perfectly on Receptor, I never expected them to be as good as my Electro 2 but they are! Combine them with a nice amp sim and some other effects, and they are maybe even better! They are donationware, for a tiny donation you get the code that lets you use them without the annoying startup screen.
I tried TickyClav, but didn´t like it, but it´s free so see for yourself. Please post if you find a good clavinet, because then I will sell my Electro

It's "corporate speak." What I mean is "several users reported that it works, nobody reported that it doesn't. But, Muse Research has not tested it and cannot guarantee that it works. If it doesn't work for you, you cannot tell me that I lied to you on this forum."musicbysterling wrote:Thanks, So when you say the Scarbee VKFX is known to work as an "unsupported Plug-in", dopes this mean that various Receptor owners may see various results using these plugs? Hi,
Just to give some news update.
We have made a special Scarbee KGB for George Laks who uses sounds on Lenny Krawitz world tour and after some initial problems he got it working with Kompakt and they are very pleased - same KGB will also be used on upcomming Alicia Keys tour. However they are using WEP and RSP73 so far on stage so we are not sure how D6-C is working (clav) as this is the most demanding sound.
We are ´still considering the Kontakt/Kompakt release of KGB as piracy has turned into a major concern and since sveral major companies now will use dongles for protection we see this as another sign that piracy has gone out of control and that it is impossible to sell software unless well protected.
As these bigger companies have much experience it seems a bit naive if we go against this trend and release un-protected sample libraries.
But decission is not made yet.
Problem is that we can't trust that ex. D6.C will not be heavilky pirated just as our other products have been pirated.

I wish there was someway you guys could sell the D6 to us receptor owners safely. I'v got a real D6 but I'd rather have your version anyday for live.
Here's hoping there's a way!

Dear Muse people,
Since Scarbee have decided against releasing KGB in Kompakt/Kontakt form, there are less options for these libraries on Receptor. Are you looking into supporting Syncrosonic (eg. Halion player) based copy-protection keys as well as iLok? This would expand the possibilities further.
Thanks, Regards,
Kevin L

I believe Muse needs to make it work with Syncrosoft since new IK Multimedia, Korg, VSL, Arturia, Steinberg and other companies now uses Syncrosoft dongle. Receptor will not be so attractive if you can't run products from these companies.looneytunes wrote:Dear Muse people,

Mr. Scarbee, I really don't think that adapting the dongle in your products would be a good idea as there are still lots of people who are against it. Just a suggestion, that's all....
Native Instruments seem to be doing great without dongles and one thing for sure, they have many legit users including myself. I really like their way of authorization and support such companies with my pocket for sure.
As for Muse, I would think that the majority or even all users of the Receptor are using legit products... If not, they should since I would think that any illegal plugins would show up in the Logfile sent in to Muse when users are having problems....
However, if some kind of 'hardware authorization' is needed, perhaps all the companies can turn to iLok....
That way we could have all authorizations in one place instead of all kinds of proprietary dongles and iLoks and etc..... Too many things hanging on one music system in my opinion. Also, we do also need our USB ports for MIDI interfaces, Drives,etc.... They're not there for all these dongles and iLoks, you know.... Makes making music a living hell at times when you have 4 MIDI interfaces.........

apparently ilok is very expensive to license. Mr Scarbee has a much smaller operation than native instruments so he has to do what he has to do to stay in business. I was hoping that there would be someway to make receptor only sample sets and instruments..perhaps the software could look for a file thats only on the receptor to prevent unauthorized use elsewhere..that being said you can still purchase the scarbee rhodes and wurli sample sets in kontakt format just not the KGB bundle..

I regret more than anyone that we have to use dongle protection, but it is only way to go. If there was any other way - other companies would go this way but they all look at dongles - just wait - maybe NI will go there too.
We have tried everything during the years - but no matter what we got pirated to hell and as I said on another forum - the ugly truth is that most sample libraries never sell more than 100 copies worldwide a year. An if they do it is on groupsales where you sell it for 50%. Try do the math: $199x100x50%=$9950 raw income. If NO expenses at all to anything or anybody this will bring you $829 a month before tax.
But expenses es are great - you have to pay musicians, rent studios, run a webshop and internet site, do packaging, pay for DVD manufacturing, pay for phone/support, etc. So in reality you loose money if you only sell 100 copies like this. So whole sample busines is made up by bigger companies and smaller companies that are driven by passion. Howver after some years passion will die - because without money it ain't that fun.
Pirates never understood this - they had the idea that we were selling 40 millions copies like Windws XP.
