Hi!
I've just asked my musicstore about the price for a fully loaded Receptor. I asked for a 200Gb harddrive but they said that they only could get a 160Gb model from the manufacturer.
Anyway, it made me thinking. What's stopping me from buying the 256MB/40Gb Receptor and installing a 200gb drive (or bigger) and just cloning the 40gb drive that comes standard onto the new one and off I go. I mean, it is a standard IDE drive? Right?
And since it runs Linux I presume you're using a normal file system like ext3/reiserfs on the hdd. So the if the cloning part doesn't work out, It shouldn't be a problem partition the new drive and installing grub.
By browsing the sources avalible at Muse's FTP I can tell you're using RedHat as a starting point. A pretty huge base system btw. So I guess you're booting off the harddrive and not a flash drive.
Btw, I couldn't find the kernel source anywhere on the Muse FTP? What's up with that?
I'm a longtime GNU/Linux user so I know my way around a Linux system (I use Crux GNU/Linux myself).
I can't wait to get my hands on the Receptor and start digging... erh, I mean gigging =D.

Thast all very well but Muse have to format the new disc themselves ie. you have no other option than to buy from them.I mean, they have to make a living some how. Nes pas?

We do offer a 200GB drive for $250, but you get a slightly better deal if you buy a receptor with a 200GB drive, instead of one with 40GB and you buy a 200GB drive separately from us.
Ask your music store again.
