Pros and cons of Receptor

We no longer support Arturia plug-ins, or to be more accurate they no longer support us. Arturia doesn't want their products on Receptor any more. The CS-80 is not going to be pre-installed in new Receptors and it is no longer available for download at plugorama.Adambomb337 wrote:That's not what I heard. I really don't like Arturia anymore and I may never buy anything from them again...
Sorry to hear that. Arturia has some nice plug-ins. Their new Prophet V (a combination of the Prophet 5 & Prophet VS) would have been nice to run on Receptor.
Are you at liberty to explain why Arturia has chosen to no longer support Receptor? Just curious, as I plan on ordering my Receptor as soon as my tax refund comes in.

I don't think they gave a reason. There is an old news item on macmusic.org:DocAtlas wrote:Are you at liberty to explain why Arturia has chosen to no longer support Receptor? Just curious, as I plan on ordering my Receptor as soon as my tax refund comes in.

That's kind of old, but if this is true and they are indeed working on hardware versions of their plug-ins, that could be one possible explanation.

It could be the reason. Maybe Yamaha is somehow involved, since they're now distributing Arturia stuff now. Maybe there will be more news from NAMM next week.
Still, I do have some commercial stuff (Sampletank 2, Sonik Synth 2) that will run on Receptor. Can't wait to get my unit!

[quote="Adambomb337"]Now I REALLY don't like Waves... I'm glad I never bought anything from them... so ridiculously expensive and stupid dongals...
Since Waves has a couple of hardware accelerators of their own, the APA 32 and 44M, I think that may be their reasoning for not supporting other hardware.
Waves is now iLok only. Dongles have been gone from their products for years.
