OK i used cut and paste- there is still nothing listed under "direct music" and only the one "in" port under windows. I have contacted stenberg and they have given me exactly the same advice that you have.

I once had a similar prob as you.(although the midi data all colapsed to the track start point)
I was using a midiman usb midisport.
It turned out that I needed their new software,(ROM),update...which they sent to me.
Suggesting only to ask if it could be a midi interface prob.

(What Bas said. And...)
I too had these exact same timing issues with a Midisport, but new drivers seemed to fix it. (Saw nothing about a ROM upgrade though, was just a driver AFAIK.) So make sure you're using latest greatest drivers... for years they had the same one with this same bug but it is fixed now finally.
You might also want to disable any ports you don't use in Cubase. I've not had any trouble with "All MIDI Inputs" that works as expected.

Have you tried the 'use system timestamp' off and on? (I guess the usb shows up in the WIndows Midi section).
If not there es another file in the Midi port enabler folder called showemulated, which can show the emulated drivers - that may be worth a test.

I use a lexicon omega soundcard with the latest ASIO drivers installed.
Timestamp is on.
In the direct music box there is listed only (after cutting the ignoreportfilter file) 1 emulated in and 2 windows outs.
In the windows box there is listed 2 windows outs and 1 usb in.
I have tried disabling one in and using the emulated one- no evail. I then tried disabling the emulated one and using the other. Nope.
Cubase is still dropping the notes in stuff early and screwing up my tracks. What could I have possibly done wrong.

It's a problem that a lot of people have, but little seems to be being done about it....

Is this problem only in cubase? What if I save up for Nuendo? Or are there any other recording apps out there as good as cubase for vsti's, vst's and audio? Should I get a refund? Or is there a solution?

I think you should be looking at your midi interface/usb and not cubase.
I`m sure your not routing through a usb hub.

sounds interesting. A usb hub?
My midi Keyboard is going directly into my lexicon omega's midi input. Is this wrong?

I just googled usb hubs. Why would I be routing through one of those things?

I wasn`t sure how you were getting your midi into the pc.
Other midi interfaces use usb into the pc...I was saying above NOT to use a usb hub when routing midi.
But does your Lex use usb to input audio AND midi into your pc?
My intel pc has multiple usb inputs...some are usb2 and some are not.
If your lex wants usb2 and your plugged into the older type usb..maybe this could effect midi timing...I don`t know, maybe someone else know more about this.

Maybe. My usb is at the front of the computer. I am not sure if they are a different kind of port or what?

I would guess the front usb port IS usb2.
I`m looking around the omega site now to see if maybe i`ll see something.
