Thanks a lot Vervil !!!
(this was the missing link)

slurm_addiction wrote:EDIT: arggg I liked the second part of that mp3 , but I just read that this part was the real amp U_U, sorry . Well I'm not an expert but the first part sounds a little more gritty than the second. The second part maybe sounds more soft? btw, great job, ( this thing look like better than amplitube and guitar rig ! )
fritzman wrote:Original (second half) still sounds better. Sim is not too far off. It has some digital sounding treble clipping.
Ok thanks, found out why.
Repost later new, but now I am tired....

This is really really close Rene. Probably the best side by side amp/sim comparison I have heard.

Yes I agree with grandaddy... this is pretty close... or with other words close enough

Sort of. Peavey have a totally undeserved reputation for being low-end, budget. But people who actually try their gear usually really like it. It's kind of funny, kind of sad, how many blind-test reviewers end up saying a variant on "I chose Peavey? I thought I had better taste than that!"
Wait... loot _then_ burn? D'oh!

I've seen a lot of really fantastic players using peavey and getting a fantastic sound. I've never been that happy with Peavey gear personaly (at least guitar stuff), but maybe I just didn't invest the time to learn to use it.

Of course, as much as peavey is known to not sound so great, they are known to be nearly indestructable. ("sounds like crap forever"). I think they get an unfair reputation. They're certainly no worse than the likes of Crate and seem to be built much better.

Yes, please Rene, either a mono file, or a stereo one with 2 takes panned L/R, but no nudging of one side, it doesn't do justice to your ampsim (or Matt's takes)

But anyway good job... and I'm casting a vote to hear some bogner/diezel impersonation, but of course take some time to breathe

I'd like to try out the Hartley Peavey signature guitar. I think Peavey's done some smart marketing lately, the way that Samick also did. In Samick's case, the product line did get an update, but more importantly they started putting people into the equation. The ads show a guy (Greg whatshisname... Bennett??) at an actual drafting table discussing personalized design. Hartley himself has made a few more photo-op appearances, but even in ads without a photo of a person, there's at least talk about the man behind the company.

Smart manoeuver, even if the assembly line is still pumping out equipment. ;) I'm certainly more open to Peavey and other similar companies in recent years.

As for the new sound clips, I can't hear them at this stupid work computer. Maybe later!

Well 5150 and his latter incarnations have become almost a new standard when it comes to recording distorted guitars and playing live, and compared to Boogie or other amps, it is quite a bang for a buck.

I agree as well, this would definately be usable.

Very good, congratulations

Not good to my ears sorry.

As a proud ( ) Peavey Bravo owner I could'nt agree more about the "bang for a buck" comment. Played lots of gigs with it (almost always miced) and always had very good comments for my sound. If you look the reviews at Harmony central you 'll see very favourable reviews (except for the bass light speaker) and if you connect it with an additional cab this thing gets extremely loud for a 25W all tube amp. All these for a price of ~150$ (used). Bought it new during early 90's and still rocks. Heard also very good comments for their classic 30's. Can't say the same for the Bandit range ...
If I go insane, please don't put your wires in my brain

Wow Burny, you're tough on him. Don't you think it's at least close, and better sounding that other ampsims ?

Post

I liked some of the earlier demos, but this is not good to my ears. I always end up being desapointed with amp sims for some reason.
