yes- Voxengo has a free app called "boogex" which can use impulses. It comes with a number of speaker impulses, but there are more at noisevault.com. I'd been planning to take impulses from the demo of GR2, but I can't seem to find any setting that is worth the trouble.

Yes, they have some cab impulses on noisevault as well.prizo wrote: CAn you get 'impulses' of a marshal cab, or mesa boogie etc??
If you try them along with SIR, don't expect being able to use them in realtime. That thing is adding 4096 samples of latency, which should be around a second at 44.1kHz.If so then I would really like to try Simulanalog paired with a good Impulse.
There's a few convolution based effect units that are supposed to work with close to no latency, such as some Voxengo stuff - but they don't come for free.

Oh, chrishurley is right, you can load impulses into Boogex. But in that case you need to use the included amp simulation as well (which isn't for my taste - probably making up for a nice freebie though).

Hm...prizo wrote:So I would record in real time using Simuanalog, then use SIR only for playback?
I could live with that.
Chainer > Simuanalog > Boogex (all set pasive)
Than its real time.
So prizo, what did you use in

POD xt.
I can send you dry, undistorted MP3's of the guitar, then you send them back (after going thru your sim) and I can mix them with the same bass & drums.
It would be a good A/B test.

Then give it a try. Costs you nothing.prizo wrote:So I would record in real time using Simuanalog, then use SIR only for playback?

Your host should support PDC (plugin delay compensation) on playback though.
But give Boogex a try as well.

I just got home and have listened to the samples. I have to say two things:
1. Wow [xerocreep]'s tone sounds great!!!
2. Wow midiworks tone sounds great!!!!
There is a difference between your sim and the reference.. a little too bright, I think. A tiny bit more 'fizz' in the highs. This may be EQable though.
