Accessing 3rd party editor?

I looped a measure or drums last night and want to deglitch the click at the loop points in Sound Forge. Is there a shortcut or way to integrate an editor into T2? TIA.

Select an audio clip, then "view source info" -> "edit audio file" -> "set the audio editor to use" and point it to soundforge.

Now you should be able to go "view source info" -> "edit audio file" -> "edit using soundforge.exe", or right-click an audio clip to choose soundforge from the menu.

Thanks so much. I seem to vaguely remember doing this once before, but couldn't find it quickly in the manual with the client sitting there. Always better to keep things moving! Thanks again.

Just hit save in the editor and close. Tracktion will update the clip automatically.

Note that when you open the audio editor Tracktion will simply minimise. You will need to maximise Tracktion once you have closed the audio editor.

Ctrl+W when you have a clip selected will automatically open it in your chosen editor (you just need to set it first).

Although with Audacity, when I try to save it, I get an error if I try to overwrite the original file. I have to save it to a different file, and manually update it in T2...

That's an Audacity thing, it doesn't save over the original file, it makes a copy, which is nice for most things (non-destructive = good), but not in this instance. There's a setting in Audacity you can change to sort that. Don't know it off the top of my head, but it's in the docco for Audacity. Not near a music computer, or i'd find it for ya

To be honest Audacity is not really an editor in the same way as Soundforge, its more of a multitrack DAW: wav files need to be "exported" rather than just saved.

Acoustica works well as a Tracktion editor, and won't hurt your wallet much.
