Sure zeoy, still have them.zeoy wrote:If you could use the "Riviera" that I sent you back then it would be a good example for clean bell-like tone. I think you must have some appropriate dry recordings, right?
Also it helps if you point me to some sound files you like.that Greg mentioned earlier
(here's the link if you don't have it handy www.show.gr/zeoy/riviera.mp3 )
The "Pride and joy" intro would be a good example for this clean to crunch sound

check these MP3s from the THD amps. Not exactly SRV tone there but if you can make your sim sound 90% like these bad babies it will be more than enough for meMidiworks wrote:Sure zeoy, still have them.zeoy wrote:If you could use the "Riviera" that I sent you back then it would be a good example for clean bell-like tone. Are you "into" metal?Sascha Franck wrote:
Seriously, I find it rather easy to achieve a proper heavy sound using a POD XT (just listen to what prizo posted),
I'm guessing you're not. Thus you arent really into the latest hi gain tones.
While what I posted is good, it doesnt compare to the real deal (a tube amp, thru a cabinet).
No sim has come close to fooling anyone that is into high gain sounds. There is a big market waiting for the app that can simulate it well.

I guess its all perspective.
I'm not "into" clean tones, so as far as I'm concernced, every amp sim does a great job at clean/overdriven sounds, but they all fail for hi-gain.
Clean is for wimps, tho

1. Wow [xerocreep]'s tone sounds great!!!
2. Wow midiworks tone sounds great!!!!
There is a difference between your sim and the reference.. a little too bright, I think. A tiny bit more 'fizz' in the highs. This may be EQable though.
...ummm, what tone? I don't have any samples in here.
