But then, I hate tarnce, people who like tarnce and the likes with a vengeance so excuse me.

It was really the repetitiveness that killed d'n'b. Or possibly ex-tarnce producers who turned to d'n'b.

Now it's all just boom-khack X 5000 with overhyped speeds and no new ideas. One act doesn't quite count (referring to Pendulum here) if the actual scene is dead. Sorry to step so brutely on so many fanboys toes. About d'n'b and america, there's about a 5 year delay on any new developments, has always been, so that would explain why some think the last 3 years have been great. Sorry the slight thread hijack too.

Then your window to DnB is narrow because the things that make late DnB of the last 3-4 years the greatest (besides the rised bar in production) is the lack of repetition . I cant listen to much of my fav dnb from 1998-99 anymore because its so repetitive. The scene is not dead, it's bigger than ever, actually.

Again, the scene didnt die, it evolved. With out musical evolution, there wouldnt be music in the first place.

In 97, Most DnB was 6 minutes of the same break and the same bass, and the mixes were muddy. The production bar has gone nowhere but up.

ok, chase, now I'm interested. Just what the hell are we talking about here? Drum'n'Bass? Do we both even agree we're talking about the same music here. Because I'm seriously doubting it now.

Damn dude, listen to the DnB channel on di.fm for merely 30 minutes and you'll see that theres similarities, especially in the bass leads and stuff, but you will also find that theres seldom any repetition, the drums rarely do the same thing for more than 4 bars, and each song really sounds completely unique.

I really like listening to DnB, sadly my attempts at making any turned into shit.
