I did a bit more testing and was able to use the multi out function, as you suggested in Sonar. I had to use the enable all midi outs option and in Project 5 had to make a layer for each channel and assign a different midi channel for each layer - a serious pain in the ass in Project 5.
I haven't done the uninstal and reinstall yet, but based on the other folks feedback here the real problem - the sluggishness - probably won't be improved. This is the real problem, and I am sorry to have misstated it as a CPU issue at first.
Might I suggest a slight change in the player? Why not have a switch so that in mix out you can simply bypass the effects? This would go some way to making this plugin more fun for those that use Project 5, and I would be many people don't like to add effects till mixdown anyway, and use their effects of choice instead of the built in ones.
thx
