Those of you with a Nintendo DS might find this interesting. It is a music creation tutorial for Electroplankton. It is not really a game, more of a weird digital art project. The idea of more tools like this for music creation is very exciting. I know there were a few items like this out there for Reaktor.

Thanks for the links. Elektroplankton's a lot of fun, but the DS title I'm hoping makes it to the US is 'Jam With the Band'. I'm more interested in the sequencing features than with the actual game part. Seems like a cool thing to have while away from the studio.

I missed that one. I have been contemplating getting a PSP or the DS. The DS seems to have the better games. What made you get one?

I have both PSP and DS, I'm really into gaming. If I had to choose between the two, I'd go with the PSP: Better graphics, sound, can play mp3's, movies, store photos, and web browsing if you have wireless access. As far as games, it's about a tie for me. Neither system has enough good games in my opinion. The 'must have' game for the PSP is Lumines. It's one of my favorite games on any platform. Very addictive, and has a great soundtrack (if you like electronic, dance type tunes).

Have you played Rez for PS2? I think it is by the same creator. It is kind of an old style shooter, but all your shots are timed to the music. It has a very trippy vector graphic kind of style.

Thanks for the link to Rez, I'll have to pick up a copy. And yeah, it is also by Tetsuya Mizuguchi. He also created a homebrew game called Every Extend that will supposedly get ported to the PSP. In the meantime you can grab a copy here:

The instructions are hard to understand, but basically you want to blow yourself up and blow up as many enemies along with you as you can. That's it! Simple gameplay, but also lots of fun. Just run the executable from anywhere on your HD, it doesn't require an installer.

Do a search for "Trance Vibrator". It was a USB brick you plug into PS2 that vibrates with the bass when you play Rez. It was available only in Europe and maybe Japan. I guess you sit on it while you play.
