so ... out of curiosity due to the screenshot thread in the main forum i grabbed fl-studio 6-08 yesterday (been a registered owner since version 3-something but havent got the last 2 major updates since its boltedtogetherness started to bug me despite its featurelist and very good piano roll) ...

... now ... the bits and pieces approach still bothers me and some things are just way too awkward to bother with BUT imagelines licensing of the elastique timestretching audio engine was a GREAT move and (even more than i do when using ableton live) i realised just how badly tracktion NEEDS high quality timestretching if its to compete in its chosen market ...

... ive not joined this chorus in the past but ...

... COME ON MACKIE - IF YOURE GOING TO TINKER WITH THE T2 AUDIO ENGINE ANYWAY FOR 2.X OR T3 THEN STICK YOUR HAND IN YOUR CORPORATE POCKET AND BUY SOME DECENT TIMESTRETCHING !!!

slainte :hihi: rob

nah ... for now im firmly back on T2 soil (although ableton keeps beckoning) ... even fl-studio as a VSTi is too fiddly for it to stay installed for too long ...

yup FLStudio has some stuff that is way cool... and better than in T... and so does Pro Tools.... and to be honest Pro Tools 7 is the host of choice this week.... but T still has stuff that the others don't

I'm not giving up on T - I just took a break...

and... hell I don't give a shit about timestretching

thank you rob - now, just get Lunch Money to finally break down and we'll have a quorum.

So, you agree with us now - thank you for having the guts to admit it.

WHAT? I've *always* wanted timestretching. ;) One of my top feature requests! That, and ACID-style beatslicing which works in combination with the timestretch.

;)

Why do people think I'm against change? :D I'm just against whining and laziness.

Any time I talk about the timestretch, I refer to it as either "good as an effect," "only good for scratch work, not for final product," or "almost unusable." I've been on the timestretch bandwagon since the beginning!

With better time-stretching, I just want one more matching feature...

A really quick way to transpose clips, love the way acid does the + - thing on the fly!

Oh and one more thing... the ability to read acidized waves files, but that's it. :)

Well, I guess we'd also needs a way to set a key signature for a section (like we do now with time signatures) for the acidized files to be related to. Sorry for adding the other features to the list.

One last thing, loop painting sure would be nice if we had all those other great features added.

Oh, by the way, working with MIDI loops should function the exact same way audio loops do. :!:

Also it would be nice if... :hihi:

id be fine since i have audition but it disables my midi controller every time i launch it damn it

im hoping aa2 wontdo that :P

rpc could you install one of the MIDI loopback devices and set one of its inputs and outputs as the input and output for audition. That might get Audition to leave your controller alone.

This lazy bashing will not be tolerated. Us lazies are peace-loving, helpful and docile creatures who never harmed a soul. This industrious anti-lazy propaganda must stop.
Laziness makes the world a better place and T, being the easiest of all sequencers, is the lazy person choice for audio software - finding this sort of statement in the RMS forums is totally unacceptable.

P.S

Bearded Lazies are all for timestretching though.
