Wow.
So, I am sorry that I started a new thread, but wanted to make sure you guys all had a chance to see this announcement.
Please do not reply to THIS thread. Reply to the original message which we will keep reading and eventually get a chance to answer your questions: http://www.kvr-vst.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=54323
Thanks for all of the enthusiasm and support.
Thanks for all of your critical comments and questions.
Thanks for all of the E-mail.
It's very much appreciated.
The first product is called BionicReverb. It's an impulse response convolution reverb. In addition to general performance increases, the video card let's us do things that have not been possible using the CPU.
The artist developing the GUI is Rob Chang:

Rob is amazing artist with Prince of Persia, Dave Mirra's BMX, and a slew of other titles and films under his belt. He is unbelievably talented and the interface is already starting to be very unique. No square metallic boxes that look like 1U rack units here. As soon as the GUI is stable we will post screen shots.
If you are interested in beta testing, send a message to betarequest@bionicfx.com.
An official press release about the AVEX technology is going out tomorrow. A link is available on the bottom of the website. www.bionicfx.com
Again, please don't reply to this message, they won't get read. Reply here:

When I get some time over the weekend, I will try and answer some of the questions.
Bionically,
James

I just wanted to repeat the slogan. Lunatique (Rob Chang) said a while back that he did do some GUI work for this and that there was development at some point. So maybe some day.

I just received an E-mail notification from this thread. This project is still alive. Rather than release a reverb, the plan is to integrate it into a reverb from another company. There's no other information available about this and I don't think anything will be announced until next summer.shamann wrote:I just wanted to repeat the slogan. If you are on a mac, someone recently sent me a link to a couple of guys in Japan routing audio through the GPU using core video. It's pretty much the same general idea, so there should be some Mac plug-ins available in the future as well.

Told ya.
See what happens when you play Funny-Pants, you monkey-arses? You just woke this guy up from the new reverb coding he's inserting into the NSA's internet spy-up-your-ass Data-Tunneling Platform..

I think its dead... www.bionicfx.com is now a parked page screen for godaddy.com
so I suspect he has either not paid his bills or hes abandoned this project..

But convolution on NVidia 7800 GTX IS working here with 3% (or less) load with 2 second stereo impulse at 44.1kHz.
So, just a little more time left before it can be theoretically made as a commercial solution.
However, I personally think this is not really worth it given we will have quad core CPUs (only at that time GPU audio processing will be practical). And it is still limited to 32-bit floating point which produces pretty 'lo-fi' convolution.
Back to the topic, I do not really understand why BionicFX has not managed to release a VST plug-in. And of course, this 'unaccomplishment' should not be treated as impossibility to do audio processing on GPU.
