Neat update! :D

Toxic 2 is awesome! :hyper:

I'd still like to see the time display incorporated into the toolbar though. There's room for it... :)

you and me both

i'd also like to see the events window dock and lock with the playlist, sampler handle 24/96 files correctly, better vst preset list handling, option to have playlist always on top, blah, blah, blah....

Personally, I´d take any of those over another new generator.

Well that is because it really is a great Tool.

I keep hearing people say how it is so oriented to synths etc .... But i use it to compose Alt Rock and other Harder style tracks.

I find it easier to compose in Orion and then Bring the tracks into Sonar 5 for further Vocals and Guitars etc.

Orions Pattern Based method just makes it so slick for me! I couldn't write or get my ideas out half as well without it. Really.

The update is Awesome.
Thanks Rich!

f**k yeah.

That screws me up so bad, not knowing where I am in the event editor/timeline I hardly ever f**k with it..

Paul

and i hear so many complain its loop oriented...
or it doesnt work with NI stuff

there are so many complaints leveled at orion it strikes me that most people complaining have not even scratched its surface.
for sure as stated above it has its down sides but if theyre the kind of obstacles that are gonna actually stop you making music then i doubt any other sequencer would be of any use either.
harsh but true.

ps can we drop it down past 30 bpm?

The more I use OPlat the more I like it, especially now my PCR-80 is crapping out on me (1 octave of keys in the middle gone, urgh).

I'm working on some long-form soundscape pieces with OPlat, stuff you wouldn't think you'd use a pattern-based sequencer for...

yepp, orion is like FL studio studio without bugs...(no uvi engine issue, and other bugs...)

I'd still like to see True Midi Step Record, Record from First Midi Note received, and a way to easily call up an audio mixer strip with pre-defined effects assigned (the last might be possible now but I haven't found a way). Still Orion continues to get more and more work here for guitar recording. Let's not forget that the last free update included the stunning Impulse Response Processor and now Toxic 2 on top makes Orion even more of a value.

Don't even start up this old argument. Let's have just one Orion and/or FL Studio thread that doesn't degrade into a flaming brawl. Yes I own both and love both equally.

Doesn't anyone just record their automation and be done with it? I almost never look at the graph unless it is something that I need to be very precise about, in which case it is invariably simple to find the right spot and tweak the recorded event data. Sure, it looks all over the place when you see it in the graph but if it sounds Ok that shouldn't be a problem.

For the long-form stuff, do you create, say, a 999 length pattern for each generator and just play into it in "song mode"?
