Certain conspicuous bugs simply can't be sorted out until an audio engine rebuild. I don't imagine an complete program overhaul being in the 2.x line, though I'm certainly not privvy to any special information. I could be wrong. Maybe it'll be like Reason where 2.5 was a world of difference from 2.0. However, it's not common for complete rewrites to be an incremental free update.
I'm pretty pleased with all the 2.1 features.
I don't care what anybody says, some of these are pretty huge, and many of them are DIRECTLY from the forum here at KvR, so whether or not anybody's particular pet feature got implemented, it can't be said that Mackie isn't listening.

Can somebody export in mp3? I tried 2 different versions of the lame encoder, but the "export" aborts without any error and no file is created..
Nice update, by the way!! Tracktion grows constantly!
EDIT: Ok.. Restarting Tracktion after having given the location for the lame.exe helped! Works fine now..

The behaviour of the MP3 encoder/decoder depends almost entirely on which version of LAME is being used, it seems. Alpha 4 has issues. But then, it's an alpha version.
I'd stick to versions that say "stable".
I'm not sure if it's still the case, but I had to quit out of Tracktion and restart before LAME "latched" and started working properly. [edit: heh, cross-posted with your edit!]

Hooray - my Neuron VS loads now and automation seems improved - it records the VS stick/parameter automation now without glitches.
