OK,
do we need to take a number to do the DL of the latest release? Mine was going S L O W and I cancelled it so I could go to bed and not babysit the DL. Normally, my DL times average about 1.5 MB/minute. The DL meter told me that the T DL was going to take over 1.5 hours.

Yes, its ultra slow. I got myne eventually. Everybody's hogging the server. You can probably wait a couple of days, or just let it sit there for a couple of hours. Its up to you.

My download finished awhile after my post and I tried it out. It seems a bit sketchy so far.. I've gotten it to start/stop playback, but it appears that all the pedals send the same midi signals... I assume I can change that though. Haven't really messed with the pod all that much other than dialing in a basic tone. So, I assume you have some kind of footswitch hooked up to your toneport?

MADatGOD: I just used the same footswitch that I was using to switch amp channels. All it needs is any kind of switch wired to a 1/4" stereo jack to turn a circuit on and off. The Pod just checks to see when a circuit is being broken, and that's that.
I was considering making a low-budget "pedalboard" for the toneport, so I went to an electronics store, grabbed a cheapo momentary switch (this one only completes the circuit as long as the button is pressed, and breaks the circuit when the button is released), and wired it up to a spare 1/4" stereo jack I had (well, actually a spare 1/8", but I had a headphone adapter.
). Worked perfectly.
There's no magic to footswitches at all, and if you were going to do it with a very light touch (ie. not actually stomping on it), you could build a dual footswitch thing for $5 plus time spent. Of course, in NO WAY would the cheapest momentary switches stand up to repeated "stompbox" action, but they'd work.
"Stompbox" style footswitches can be had for anywhere between $2.50 and $20.
Judging from what I've seen, Line 6 Edit works much the same way as TonePort's Gearbox, so you should be able to tell it what way to operate (ie. latch/momentary) and which MIDI signals to send.
In T, it's actually pretty arbitrary what you have the switch set to, because it'll detect you engaging it, regardless.

"Another 'quirk' that results from the plugin's multitimbrality is that changing
the program in the VST host WILL NOT change the synthesizer's current program,
but rather it will only set the editor GUI to that program. To change programs
for playback, you'll have to send MIDI program change commands, either by manually
inserting them as events or by a 'program' field in your 'track properties', whatever

The V2 is very weird in how it reacts to program changes. To have it respond to program changes you have to highlight your MIDI input device icon and then use the program and bank change buttons at the bottom of the control panel. Since the V2 is multitimbral it will respond to program changes for all 16 different channels with #16 being for the voice synth. Note that the program change won't be reflected in the displayed patch or the patch name in V2. Just look at the number of people complaining about how slow the Mackie server is running. These demo files represent almost half the download. Taking them out (and I'm sure most of us don't really want them again) would relieve pressure on the server.Mr. Tingle wrote:can't say I mind

That is definitely less-than-standard. If they came out with a mono-timbral version I think it would be very cool! How hard can it be? They're basically removing parts not adding them .-

Maybe they have only done it for the full boxed version?
