I can't find any extra effects to download, I have the download version of T2.

Maybe they have only done it for the full boxed version?

What's the deal with midi loop recording? Haven't you always been able to do that?

It now stores all the takes so you can choose between them easily by clicking on the lower right corner. Before it just layed everything on top of each other.

That's great! I hadn't noticed the option was already there for audio.

Yup

. You just have to select the input and choose the option to overlay each take on top of each other and thats it. You can do 10 takes and pick take 4 etc. I'm terrible on the keys so this is handy.

just a heads up I think firefox on the Mac is causing the download to tank.
Worked fine with safari and camino.

No reverb or EQ for the mac users in this install.
No seperate download in my mackie account either do we have to wait yet again?
Oh well price we pay for being mac snobs i spose.

When T2 was annouced at last year's NAMM we were promised the new Mackie effects, clearly as an upgrade from the basic RMS effects that came with T1. Loyal T1 customers who paid to upgrade online received the first 6 elements of the Mackie effects bundle, together with the assurance that the others would follow within two to three months... (May/June 05)

Although most of us have alternative VST effects we can use, it's obviously nice to use a matching set of familiar effects that are well tested and work well within your chosen host. In fact, all the worthwhile hosts now come with a full suite of decent effects.

Are you saying that Mackie have gone back on their word, and if so do they really expect us all to cut our losses and start from scratch as brand new boxed-version customers in order to get the core effects suite

Aren't the new effects at least available seperately as a download for a nominal fee, so that long-term Tracktion users don't have to go back to first base?

Much as I like the Mackie effects that were already included as promised, I don't think I would want to spend the full £129 to get the remainder of the suite.

I realise that Mackie as a business have to make money, but I find this approach upsetting and think it makes Mackie look divisive, mean-spirited and vindictive.

The $20 downloadable upgrade didn't seem mean or vindictive to me, but perspectives vary, I suppose. It was made very clear that these were 2 different upgrade paths. I don't think that their sum of advertising had to mention this fact at every turn, since the $20 upgrade was more or less an "underground" kind of thing.

Erm, I didn't say that it did, Greg

. It was a great deal. But if I'd known that Mackie would gradually cut me out of Tracktion and force me to buy the boxed-version anyway, then perhaps that's what I would have done in the first place, rather than wasting $20 on what is beginning to look like a taster, rather than the full product.

But like I said, perhaps it will be possible for long-term customers to at least buy these core Mackie effects seperately so that we can have a complete version of Tracktion 2?

i'm well pleased with just the mp3 export.
But just to confirm are the new plugs only available for boxed version users not online upgraders?

That's true, but it was also made very clear that the Mackie effects were part of BOTH upgrade paths. Only the third-party plugs were unique to the boxed-version.
