I was looping through a bit of Midi stuff trying different FM7 patches, and every time the loop restarted, FM7 would be kicked back to the original patch.
WTF?
WTF?

One person on OSX had a problem. I don't think it's a widespread issue.lharless wrote:im glad i have more than one host. with all of the people crying aorund here, im a little scared to even finish the download...
i have a weeks worth of f**king rythym bed tracking (the band im working for at the moment has spent a little close to $2000 on tracking time), and i don't really know what to do at this point. im going to try to load this stuff up in tracktion. i should have kept my older version 2. but like an idiot, i thought it was going to be a painless upgrade. this is the level of trust i put into this software up to this point. so ill go install this and see what happens.
That being said, upgrading during a major job is definitely a bad idea, regardless the software app.

installed. no problems at all. great update. thanks mackie. thanks new programmers! thanks betas! great job, so far.
for the naysayers, it's 2.1, it's not that different really. if you don't like it, stfu and move on, be done. it's the same program with a few fiddly things added. nothing huge to worry about.
hardly a bump on the road to a better tracktion.

Yeah, I don't get why people are that pissed, but whatever. I kinda see their point about the upgrade path, but yet the update hasn't been out but a couple days, same goes for the plugs. They might still offer the plugs for a certain amount of dough for web-based T2 users.lharless wrote:installed. no problems at all. great update. thanks mackie. thanks new programmers! thanks betas! great job, so far.

and yeah...
don't make my mistake and erase your older version before you download the upgrade.
what an amateur mistake i made there.. wow! i just thought i'd get the download a little quicker than i did. i was definitely spazzing out for a little while on the time out issue. I've got to work this weekend, lol. everything is fine now... and thanks for the advice. i actually knew this, but thought i could skirt by... i got lucky. but i shouldn't have erased the original beforehand.
thanks!

I redownloaded and reinstalled the update and things seem to be working better now. I wonder if with all the heavy traffic the Mackie server was under yesterday the update files might have been corrupted for a lot of people. Don't know if that is possible or not. I guess it's one more reason to offer a download without all the demo files. That much less to get messed up in transfer.

Because I mix with my ears not my eyes and I use the space bar to start and stop playback.headquest wrote: Why would anyone want to mix tracks with the Master level meters hidden??

mapper,
there's a problem reading aiff files which have an .aif extension in the new version. Files named .aiff can be read fine. Rename your file extensions, you should be ok. Looks like a bug that slipped through. If you have lots of them, and really can't do it on your own, i'll write you a shell script to do it.
headquest,
lovely to see you round here again. Not had any posts complaining about upgrade paths you know nothing about yet for what seems like ages. My how times change. Happy new year. The king is dead, long live the king.

downloads are much faster now... just downloaded in about 6 minutes
just a couple hours ago, it was far slower, so maybe mackie did something
as for the update, it sounds like a fine .1 update with some snazzy new features. that all sounds great
it is the adding of tracktion features that I now do not have that is annoying. i no longer have a full tracktion
online version tracktion owners now have what amounts to tracktion lite and no means to upgrade.

Point taken about the transport via the k/b, but attack transients can easily cause distortion that is hard to hear at first. Seems to me pretty important to have visual clipping indicators while mixing.flanneljammies wrote:Because I mix with my ears not my eyes and I use the space bar to start and stop playback.headquest wrote: Why would anyone want to mix tracks with the Master level meters hidden??
