:D Hello there, I've been waiting for so long to find something that will help me play onstage..live.
Will I be able to play live with receptor all of my EW library's VSTs without any problem?
I have a Roland Fantom S(latest OS) loaded with SRX board that i will use it as a midi controller to get the sounds out of the Receptor; im just worry about latency issues. Have anyone performed live with the Receptor yet? And, what setup you used? Thank you in advance. Thank you
Gabriel

Hi Gabriel,

Don't worry ~ you're in the right forum.
I perform a few times a week; I've been using using Receptor all the time, since November.
I had the unit for a few months, getting to know it, experimenting with a variety of different set-ups and configurations, before I was comfortable to take it on stage and on the road.

I use 2 keyboards to trigger my rack units: Receptor & XV-5080.
I, too, was concerned about my live requirements, but I was never concerned about latency ~ and it has never been an issue!
The VST's I use the most, include: East West Gold, GPO, Atmosphere, Kompact, B4, EVE, Mr. Ray and impOSCar.

Receptor has immediately become a vital part of my performance and studio rigs.
What you must do is get your unit installed with the maximum RAM (2 GB).

My concern was the load time, from song/set-up to song/set-up.
It's not as fast and I'd like it to be, but I've developed methods that work for me, especially in fast moving live 'pressure' situations...

I hope this helps

tx for your reply, how fast is reload time?...about 3 secs?

Uhhh - Hmmm
The more plug-ins you use, and the size of files they use = longer load times.
I do some heavy orchestration - sometimes I'm waiting 10 to 14 seconds.

But, if you use their Z-load (and I do) you can pre-load, then change to others, and much of the samples/files are saved in memory... it drastically speeds up the re-load time.

Where there's a need for me to, at the push of a button, be into the next song - I take advantage of the great sounds I have on the XV-5080; I can keep playing while my Receptor is completeing it's loading of that set-up.

Sounds like you can do the same.

Has anyone try the Kick A** Brass sound libraries with receptor yet?

See the thread a few lines down. We are working on a solution with Farhan and Matt from AMG. Fingers are crossed.
