It'd be definitely easy enough to patch in as an update; the framework would already be in place.

Yeah, I agree. This looks like EnergyXT plus a hardward controller, plus their "organization" database that they mention.

Don't get me wrong, I love NI for their products (Reaktor, Kontakt), but I'm having a hard time getting excited here...

It looks like it can't do one hundredth the routings that ext can do.. Oh yah.. And that key map? Probably a nobrainer in ext.. Ill give anyone the project file if you request it..

You can even program any 100 dollar controller to switch between playing different vsts in ext.

Dont get ME wrong. Maybe this thing can do a lot.. But they aint sayin shit! Maybe they should release a little more info, instead of a bunch of marketing hype..

The symbol for KORE :hihi: is just purely romantic! It makes you just wonder.. WHAT IS THAT GIANT RED CIRCLE.. Then you see the controller and your supposed to put two and two together and be enticed.. So far, just a bunch of hype but i wont make up my mind yet... NI ROCKS THOUGH!

But it can be if this part of the announcement is true - "KORE operates both as a stand-alone instrument host and as a plug-in in every major sequencer."
Don't like the GUI much - the mixer looks pants. Depending on how well it works though, it could be something I might actually be interested in for live work and if you saw my comments last week about how well Micron handles presets, you'll realise that KORE implements a similar idea by using a centralised database to manage all your presets - an awesome idea in itself. And that controller just looks so damned sexy!

It would have to be as it doesn't have a keyboard.
raikard233 wrote:NI, why not an host-sequencer?
I'm sure that they can do!
Maybe they feel that the sequencer market is well saturated already and that it would be hard to get into in any meaningful [i.e. profitable] way? It would be a hard position to argue against.

what i really don't get is how reading so many words and even looking at screenshots and so many of us still aren't sure about what this does and doesn't do

It's a damn combinator patcher with an extrenal controller/audio interface on a USB2 line..

There's no wheel re-inventing here, just consolidation of other successful works, but NI did it, and I wants it, presiouusss..

Don't make me sick Pope Smeagol on your asses..Even Pope Smeagol's an NI fanboy..

I love my NI VSTis, but I think I'm gonna wait on this until it does have a sequencer built into it.

It seems to take the idea of a host like Chainer etc. and elaborate on it as a one stop vst centre.

Or something like that...

Yup, the sequencer market is truly well-saturated. They prolly could have done better just buying Trackton, or sumthin'. ;)

so far eXT seems to be the unit to go for. I wonder if they tried to buy out jorgen like they did DR Sync. I think it is great that DR Sync went to NI. They treated Sync customers with mass respect in the form of killer crossgrades. No bones about that.

Both products (SyncM and EXT) were/are amazing!

What if Jorgen bought NI.... Hmm Hmmm? What about that?!

That controller does look sexy. the product seems cool but I have no need. I really am not considering this any kind of DAW. It's more of a utility.
It would be cool if it does metasurface type preset morphing, They seem to have dabbled with that in Reaktor.

"the world's first Universal Sound Platform", which will "revolutionize how performers and producers work with software instruments and effects".

Yeeeahhhh right!

I have also wondered if anyone has ever tried to buy him out.. If not yet, i do see it in the future. I hope he declines. If you ever see a job posting at NI or somewhere else for Delphi programmers, then we might need to be concerened.
