Does Tracktion 2 need a 3D skin?

Yes, a 2D graphic is so Apple IIe.

No. I like the plain Jane, sensible T2 just the way it is.

So many pretty, shaded, glistening GUI's out there. Does Tracktion look too flat with its 2D GUI?
Here is my small version:

Voted no. I don't think of tracktions GUI as plain jane though, it's damn pretty in my eyes.

a glistening UI would turn me right off.
Someone shot the food. Remember: don't shoot food!

Hmm. I voted yes even though I think it would be great if we could switch back to the current way from time to time. But we can't have everything can we. :)

The following statement is true.
The previous statement is false.

don't waste cpu on pretty colors!!!! we are using this to make music. if you want nice pictures go use photoshop!

Voted no. I prefer readability over prettyness. Too many applications today have pretty 3D interfaces where editing and getting an overview is awkward just because of stylish 3D design. The simple design is one of the things I really like with Tracktion.

Having said that I do think that Mackie certainly could provide a better default colour scheme, as well as include some less vomit inducing optional ones. They look like they hired a team of 11-year-old girls to make them. I didn't find any of of them usable and had to spend a lot of time making my own. OK, enough whining.

NONE of the optionals are usable?? Mully's Dust and my "Grey and Red Eye relief" are pretty good. :D Beno's Bogic was pretty good, too, I thought.

I DID notice that they looked completely different from one of my 2 monitors to the other, though. Some that "sucked" before were suddenly good, and some that I thought were "good" suddenly sucked. :D

I guess they just weren't to my liking... :-) Anyway, I have made one of my own that is basically grey and then some muted colours for filters and clips. Swedish design, you know ;-)

I made my own colorscheme too some days ago. Basically grey with some muted colours for filters and clips. :o :) Minimalism and functionalism, the Swedish trademark!

Håller fullständigt med om att de allra flesta färgscheman som följer med är rent av gräsliga...

i voted no, but itd be hilarious to see what they'd come up with. and the howls from the whiners would be too much, lolz.. it'd almost be worth it just for the entertainment value.

haha!

Post

I voted yes because I want to see what it would look like, and i can be a bit of a sucker for eye candy

... although in reality i would probably turn it off for any real music making. Get the processor concentrating on it's real job
"my gosh it's a friggin hardware"
