To me the star fo the bunch, hands down, is the compressor. I've tried or owned them all and currently use Kjaerhus Golden, Elemental Audio, WWAYM, TbT, and Buzzroom comps.
This Mackie comp will be a frequent go-to. I'm surprised and impressed.
Reverb: a bit disappointed. It sounds "tin can" ish to me. I don't like the longer tails. Some of the ambience settings sound good, though. It reminds me of Room Machine. BIG CPU load, though. This will be an "alternative" reverb for me.
EQ: Havent delved into it, but it is functional. I like Posihfopit and GEQ-7 more, though.
Panner: interesting. I like the interface. I'll definitely give this one some attention.
So, how do you rate each of them?

The compressors are great, the EQ is good, though I'm so used to Eqium/Firium I doubt they'll get much use, the reverb is OK.
The stereo panner is what it is; an effect you'll rarely use, but one which will every so often give you something new and inspirational to work with, which makes it essential in the way that all such plugs are.

I bougoht a boxed version registered it and the upgrade did not have the new effects. Did I miss doing something somewhere? I went to MyMackie page it has it listed as the onyx bundle and it took me to the download page for the update. But I did not see anything about downloading effects.
Just trying to learn about recording, that is if my head is not too hard.

I quickly replaced the old "tracktion" and mackie filters with the new ones. The old tracktion EQ was hard to adjust without changing the settings (clicking on it usually changed the Q). The new one is nice and normal. The compressors seem better than the old mackie's wherever I used one as a limiter. I replaced the glassverb I was using because it caused a lisp (I don't know why); the new mackie reverb does not have that problem.

No, they are not. The new effects are for boxed version owners only.walleyI wrote:simple question - as a user of T1 who only bought the T2 update from the web rather than forking our for the boxed version are the new effects also included in our update? If so, how do i get em![]()

I am not to crazy about the reverb but that could be just a matter a getting to know it better. However The 6 Band EQ, I love it and the Compressors are great.
I went back to a project in process and put the 6 Band EQ in them (while only disabling the four band that was there) and what a difference it made.
All in all I would say I am very satisfied with the effects. Like oters the Reverb is a CPU hog and I would hope that something can be done about it. If not I will try and figure out how I can get back to the old reverb.

Well you've all heard me bitching in the other thread about my plug bundle going belly up after 2 days and demanding that I reactive with a new machine code on the same machine, yadda yadda...
Still waiting for a reply from Mackie.
To the person who asked what the difference is in the comps, I think the previous one bundled in the box was by Acuma and while it is good, I find it harsher sounding and this new one smoother and more musical to my ears.
