Hi there! Is anyone else finding that projects which ran perfectly well in the previous version now max out in 2.1? I have been getting problems particularly with multiple instances of SIR and Voxformer - though there was no problem a week ago! Athlon 64 3400+ and I gig ram.

Toggling end-to-end has not made a difference - though T turned it off itself at one point, in protest at 9 tracks.

OK, I assume that after 82 views and no reply that my finding is unusual, if not unique! That said, has anyone any thoughts on what may be going on ... and why?

Actually, I have noticed that on some edits that were playing back OK at say 7ms latency will only do so when bumped up to 9ms with 2.1.

Hmm, for me the opposite happened.
2.0.2.8 was slooooow but when I reopened the tracks in
2.1.0.6 they were fine...

But I run Intel cpu's. Maybe T is having problems
with your 64 bit architecture?

Ron, here's your example list:

2 audio tracks (piano) - no plugs but submixing into a third track with PSP Pianoverb
3rd audio track with Classic EQ, Classic Comp & Classic Reverb
4th audio into DSR, Voxformer & SIR
2 midi tracks both into Jeskola XS-1

All feeding into Vintage Warmer on the master out.

e-to-e is off
10 ms latency
Asio direct selected
130 mb selected on cache

T 2.1 only non-background program running.

Result? CPU meter dances up and down peaking into red; mucho crackle, occasional stutters.

The point is nothing changed except the upgrade & it played happily before(????????).

Could it have anything to do with the new Rewire, even though I don't have it enabled?

Hey Mont, I don't know if this is helpful at all, but disable ASIO direct mode, and also shut down realtime priority mode if you haven't already. With any luck, you'll notice a difference. Worst case, at least it was worth a try.

Thanks Greg - I'd tried this before but just had another go. If anything slightly worse, I'm afraid. I am right in thinking the above list shouldn't overwhelm my system, aren't I?

Just a shot in the dark here but you wouldn't happen to have Cool'n'Quiet for your Athlon 64 on would you?

I wouldn't THINK that your CPU should skyrocket with that. What happens when you play the MIDI tracks through virtual instruments instead of sending the MIDI to the external gear? If it's working right, external gear should take FEWER resources, but if it's NOT working right....
