Fake audio input device

didn't T used to have virtual audio devices? (I'm talking ancient history, early 2003?) Jules didn't like them and nobody here stuck up for them so he took them out.

of course it could have been something totally different...

I think the problem is having several ASIO devices working together.

To have a (virtual) input in T, you'll have to make some sort of (virtual) sound card driver. Now this fake soundcard will have to work simultaenously with another ASIO device, i.e the real soundcard. At least in T - you can't do that (ASIO limitation??)


This is something Mackie can probably do, but will be hard (if not impossible) to a plugin dev.

i might be missing the point (apologies for derailing if i am) but it IS possible to run multiple 'fake' ASIO devices i THINK ... my echo indigo IO does it all the time with 4 virtual stereo out ASIO devices (and 1 stereo in) running simultaneously through only 1 physical device ...

... whether or not a host could replicate something similar AND pass audio from one of its outs to one of its own ins might be another matter ...

I've used Jack on OSX and it creates virtual inputs in Tracktion.

It's also cross-platform.

This could all be avoided if they let Aux Return be a Track Input... So simple, yet so frustrating when it's not there. I could argue all day, and night, for this implementation. And for those who deslike that it breaks
the left to right, DON'T USE IT!!

If you're afraid of getting feedback to your precious monitors I suggest you Fokkers take a simple abc
signal class.

Well, for now I'll just have to loopback two of my i/o on DD 882... But that should not be neccesary. Also, A cheap/free rewire app could also do the trick as a loopback... But that seems like alot of hassle.. There used to be an app called FreeWire from Spectrasonic that was only a routing/mixer app for rewire. This is just what I need, but it seems nowhere to be found...
