Tracktion Software

...Tracktion 1 would just stop responding, mousing over icons would cause the text to vanish, and tracktion would just close but it would still be running under Processes? It's back in the new version. Yay.

Anyone else having the problem? It started the very first time I played with automation.

hmmmnnn ... on one occasion today i DID shut T2 down and still have it in the active processes list ... first time ive seen that for a while though ...

... never saw the other stuff but vaguely remember a tiny number of users having similar issues ages ago ...

Yes, at times I've also closed T2 (usually after messing about with sfz which is buggy as heck) only to see it running in active processes, still. No icon/text problems here, though.

I had exactly this problem - rolled back to 2.0... and will wait for another bugfix. Pity because simplicity and stability was why i chose T2 in the first place

What audio and video cards are you (the people with this problem) using?

I have this problem alot when beta testing a VSTi or something, and if it causes a crash, Tracktion stays in processes and I have to actually restart the PC (or wait something like 15 minutes) for it to clear, and for it to free up the ASIO drivers. Meaning, if it crashes, I can't launch any other program and use ASIO within it.

I always thought this was a tracktion exclusive problem, but now I own eXT and a similar thing happens- it doesn't stay in processes forever like tracktion, but if a beta VSTi crashes, I need to restart the PC to get the ASIO back.

When I try my own plugins, I get this from time to time, but when sticking to more mature plugins this never happens, I'd check which plugins you use when doing this.

Also, are you using plugs in rack filters? that's sketchy sometimes.

Do mean that in general, it is sketchy to put a plug-in in a rack filter, or that with some plug-ins RF's are particularly problematic?

I had a graphics problem with disappearing buttons in T2. The cause was: Windows ACPI put Graphics card, USB-card and internal USB-ports and audio-card on one single interrupt.
Solution was: disabling of ACPI.

I'd check the interrupts first (Programme -> Zubehör -> Systemprogramme -> Systeminformation).

I did have a rack running Sonic Charge µTonic which was triggering the T sampler. Ill check the ACPI bit too. Thanks.

The T2 zombie process also happens if you cock up the order of loading Live as a ReWire slave, and try and start again - you have to logoff and log in again.

can't you go to Device Manager and disable then enable the device? That's what I do for my modem when it goes off on one. saves a reboot.

ever look at the log? it should be where you set your temp directory, look at what happened before it was shut down

On the mac I get crashes when working with racks, never otherwise.

You mean logout of windows? Can't you just kill the process in task manager?
