And, by the way, such 'sloppy' sound is partially an aspect of 'expensive' recordings, at least how I perceive that. This creates a slightly 'strange' sound.

Of course not, dimwits are people too you know and I could never find it in my heart to insult them in such a grave manner.

Aleksey Vaneev wrote:Kingston, OK, I understand that 'sloppy' sound. But I may expect it to sound sloppy if you run 4 instances in series. With only 2 instances in series it hardly becomes a problem.

I plan to make Clean coloration & Classic detector mode to work like an ordinary compressor - without any phase coloration. Maybe I can also add a switch to force phase linearisation (but this may require additional CPU resources and may increase latency by 8-16 samples).
Hi, Clean coloration mode would surely be a bonus. I'm not too keen on phase linearity (although I suspect bmanic will request it ), if there was a simple way to turn off the coloration.

That's right. Like I said, even if there was a switch, I'd have the bass phase coloration on like 80% of the time. I like the sound a lot, but like was mentioned, there are rare and isolated cases where it doesn't work.

Yeah, and what else is new. Let me guess, those secret weapons are free? and that they have no fancy graphics all? and that nothing commercial could ever possibly touch them?

Some guys around here are sure that if there is written "waves" and "ssl" it can't be good
This is strange cause I usually didn't hear anything made by them sounding bad...
Even more, both companies set real standards in audio quality.
Of course it's very easy to say bad thing about the big names...
