really? judging from the demo's all i heard was mostly just a lot of standard va with some vocoding. the Z1 at least had a lot of physical modeling in it. It'd be great if there was a hardware synth similar to Cronox3. Imho C3 is the best compromise between sophistication and and ease of programing. VA + "rompler" and FM/AM for some twist plus many instances of effects and robust modulation section.

Unless it has a greatly improved filter over the original I cannot say I would be even slightly interested.

You couldn't.

But you could get say 10 different synth wirings and morph smoothly between them. I would call something like that a functional vector synthesiser... or perhaps the great unificator.

But it's just a dreaming because numbers of calculations needed just for faders ((16*16*4)**2) would be huge. Then there had to be hundreds of simultaneous effects and when counting the FM/AM part too... We would get a nice supercomputer what would be doing a monosynth.

The Radias street price is now official: $1700 for the keyboard version and $1600 for the rack. These prices are from NovaMusik.

The SH-201 is $595 and the Juno-G is $995 (a bit expensive, if you ask me).

No info about the X50 or microX yet.

I like Roland, but what the hell? For the price of one useless Roland keyboard, you can get a Motif ES Rack. That's funny to me.

The X50 does look nice I agree.
However the MicroX looks like it has the better voice/sample set.
Especially with all the middle eastern instruments added for example.
Wonder how much they'll cost in Oz.
Or more importantly how much could ya' wangle one for Bones ?

MicroX could be cool depending on the price. But other than that, I agree with ugo - NAMM was pretty disappointing. All in all, there was absolutely nothing even close to the innovation of Zebra2 (IMO the new high-water mark of synths, hard or soft)

Maybe thats alot to expect, but Radias seems... *yawn*

Yes but as MotifESr's sounds are overall better than this "Juno-G" you are getting actually a "workstation" not just sound module (so it has a sequencer). With simple yet usefull multitrack audio recorder too. The another plus of "Juno-G" is that it can be expanded with 0.5GB of ram and probably there will be possiblity to load your own multisamples somehow. So as I like my MoESr I would now think twice about it if I would be going to buy some hardware "rompler". Comfort of having just one piece of equipment capable of recording ideas and playing gigs with it is great.
