Receptor and Propellerhead Reason?

Hi everyone,

I know this is probably a naive question, but is it worthwhile to consider getting Propellerhead Reason to use together with a Receptor, with both connected to a studio computer (with Receptor perhaps connected via Uniwire)?

I know that Reason is not a VST application, but that some flexibility exists with its Rewire implementation.

I already have Receptor, and am considering trying out Reason so that I can use both together for instrumental music composition and production. But I'm also realizing that they may be apples and oranges, and perhaps I should just do my main sequencing with Cubase SX, which supports VST wonderfully.

The thing that appeals to me about Reason is that it's a self-contained studio in software, but at the same time I want to make use of the Receptor.

Thank you!

Ben

Receptor and Reason may be like apples and oranges, but if you like fruit salad you would use both. Corny analogy aside I don't see why they would not work together. They would not interact directly, though. You would use ReWire to communicate between Cubase and Reason, and UniWire to communicate between Cubase and Receptor.

Dan,
Thanks so much for the reply. Just the feedback that I needed. Long live fruit salad!

HI Dan,
Can Reason run on Receptor?

Right now it cannot run and we do not have immediate plans to make it run. Maybe in some distant future.
