Live and T2

Anyone else here use Live and T2 together? I have been using Tracktion for years, and only recently started becming interested in doing electronica music. My problem: I don't have the money for Live and I don't believe in pirating. But I got Live Lite 4 with a keyboard I got, and bought Live Delta 2 off of someone for a few bucks. So I can either run in Demo mode and not save or run in lite mode and not use many plug-ins. But I started slaving the demo to T2 to convert midi parts into audio loops. Then I reload these loops into a non-rewired Live (30 minute rewire time limit), so I can use these loops live during a gig and even save the parts I played if I like. Also, I have founf that some soft synths like Synth1 seem to run better in T2 than in Live with my setup. Anyone else use these 2 programs together?

You're not alone. There are quite a few people using both programs together. I've posted a number of threads about this. Try a search.
Meanwhile, you seem to have hit on the point of using both. Namely, Live is an excellent extension to Tracktion, solving most of T2's timestretching/looping shortcomings. The nice thing here is that you can use the demo of Live 5 rewired to T2 for the most up to date features. Saving is out but you can render the rewired Live output in Tracktion.
My biggest complaint about this setup is that Live handles vst AND AU plugs very well but both are unavailable when live is rewired as the slave app. Sadly, T2 doesn't support AU at all and probably never will.
After about 6-8 months of playing with Live, I recently purchased the full program. I received the lite version with my audiophile interface. If you have lite, you are also elligible for a discounted upgrade to live 5 for 250.00 US.
I thought I might use Tracktion a lot less after purchasing the full version of Live but not so. I just recorded a new song idea with Tracktion last night. It's such a great program for working very quickly.
You should also know that although I'm a fan of Live, it's not without quirks. Visit the boards at ableton and you'll see just as many people complaining as you do here (or anywhere else). If you've been visiting this board over the last couple of years, you'll also recognize a few people that used to post here until development slowed down dramatically with the Mackie deal.
