I'm not switching hosts to Cubase - so don't even go there....

I got one of those freebie copies of Cubase LE with my PreSonus FirePod and I haven't even bothered to load it yet.

Tracktion lovers... Is there a reason why I should load it and try to ReWire it into T?

These would be compelling reasons for me to do it:
1. If it has proper timestretch ala FL, ACID
2. If it has some bundled killer synths
3. If it has notation midi support/editing

If it doesn't do any of these things, then I guess the distribution CD stays unopened.

Tracktion and Cubase are both ReWire hosts. Neither of them works as slave.

I have LE too, the annoying thing is that no matter what i set the tempo to, it always resets to 120 for some reason.

I haven't investigated the program much though tbh and it may make sense once i understand it more, but adding fx/instruments etc and the routings are all so counter intuitive if compared to the likes of acid/flstudio/eXT etc.

I used to use cubase back in the vst5 days and was very happy with it. I have now used Tracktion for the past 9 months and it is MUCH faster to work with.

I just got Cubase LE along with my firebox about 2 weeks ago and loaded it up. After the ease of using Tracktion, CubaseLE was just plain confusing. If you're happy with working with Tracktion there is no reason imho to use Cubase LE other than to tinker with technology. Tracktion helps me make music much quicker (which usually translates into better) than Cubase ever did. On the other hand, Cubase SX3 has a MUCH better midi implementation than Tracktion (but that's for another thread).
